I forget who it was though but it definitely has happened before.

Yeah, I thought I remembered this happening before. Just can't put my finger on who it was.

Jason Kidd did it a few years ago to the Mavs as well. All the reports had him coming back to the Mavs and then all of a sudden he was signing for the Knicks. His reasoning was he wanted to mentor Jeremy Lin, who didn't even end up back with the Knicks that season lol

Piggyback off @ESPNSteinLine: Doc told DJ they didn't know he wanted bigger role. LA offering to hire big man coach & increase DJ's touches.

There have been others to change their mind, only difference here is a former team has swooped in at the last minute. I can't remember the last time something like that happening during NBA free agency.

What they should do is the same thing the NFL does. Have a 3 day legal "tampering" period, so pretty much what they have now but cut it down to 3 days total. And then "no numbers can be talked about" until the 3 days are up. And then any deal that has numbers reported by the media are eligible to receive tampering penalties from the League. And then this whole issue of guys agreeing to contracts shouldn't happen because the teams could face tampering charges from the players former team. So no team would agree to a contract before the 3 days is up. It's worked out pretty well for the NFL up until this year when you had guys agreeing to terms before the end of the 3 days. Fans still knew where guys were most likely to end up but didn't know the terms of the contract.

The feeling is DeAndre Jordan is now "50/50" on his decision. Crazy. I guess we're back where we started.

This was the feeling of many in Clipperland last week before they heard he was having second thoughts this week.
The only argument that I have for LAC is: Did DJ agents push him to DAL without him wanting to go?

Dan Fegan also represents Doc's son, Austin, who is a free agent in case this soap opera needed another layer.

...but he also represents Chandler Parsons bro

The Clippers are going all out, but I'm told it's not a one-way street. They're doing this because Jordan was and is having second thoughts.

Clippers are "cautiously optimistic." As one source said "They're not flying everyone to Houston if they didn't think they had a real shot."

While this is all possible and he could've been pushed to sign in Dallas by Faegan, this guy seems more indecisive than Dwight

Funny thing is that nothing good will come of this if DJ stays or goes.

And Doc Rivers looking like a snake right now.

I told y'all Doc was a good for nothing lowlife with how he left Boston. You guys all laughed at me. Him pulling a snake move like this doesn't surprise me at all.

Seems like Jordan inviting them to his home. Can't happen without him wanting this to bro.

No matter how this plays out, you can pencil in Clippers v. Mavericks on Christmas Day at this point.

Unwritten rules in this business and this is a snake move.

If DJ is having cold feet that's his issue. Doc and CP3 had the chance to lay everything out but CP3 was too busy hanging in the Caribbean to care.

Stein saying that Doc didn't know that DJ wanted a bigger role? So everyone knew but the LAC? Come on.

I definitely dont get that, when they met this didnt come out?

the twist though is, did his agent really push him to do that?

.... all in all, im entertained. Can't blame them for taking the opportunity he gave them but I would've called up JaVale day 1 and been like "this coulda been us but you playing in Dallas"
