Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
I won't do that directly, because I was the one who said MJ carried him, but I will say that people forget how good that Bulls team performed when MJ tried baseball ...Last edited by dubcity; 08-30-2015, 12:11 AM.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Pippen doesn't go around saying he didn't appreciate MJ until he had to play with Bonzi Wells
That's pretty much where this whole thing would lie.... in this case as well as Shaq's, they carried the load more than anyone and that's not a bash, nor is it certainly an argument.
Some people are just sensitive to "their" player more than the team itself.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
We both know those situations aren't close to the same. Pippen was great, but he was never the best player in the world for the better part of a decade like Kobe."In the morning he would read the Bible with another coach. Then, in the afternoon, he would go out and cheat kids who had probably saved up money from mowing lawns to buy those raffle tickets. That's Jim Tressel."Comment

Neither was Kobe but let's not go down that road.

Since the actual conversation has evolved

I understand all that though.
All I'm saying is that the wording of "carried" is where I can see people disagreeing.
Not that I care one way or the other, but if I came on here and said "LeBron carried Wade/Bosh" there would be those same reactions as well. Pages of people telling me how much I'm underplaying Bosh's contributions and what not.

He was being technical
Secondly kobe only fans have always hated when you mention how important shaq was and maybe a little more important than Kobe due to his sheer dominance.
Its been like that forever. Real lakers team fans dont argue that.
When you look back in history i dont care how many numbers you throw out... O'neal deservedly has 3 finals MVPs on record and it wasn't a mistake...especially not 3 times in a row
But like i said that wasn't even the conversation it was just taken there by someone. The podcast was about something Kobe said not about him being carried or not.

Whether you used carried or more important dudes were still going to be in their feelings. Shaq was definitely the MAN of the team, it's not like you said Kobe was the Robert Horry of the team just Shaq was the focal point, they needed each other to a degree.
Shaq needed a wing to take some of the scoring load off when he was being doubled and triple teamed, and Steak Bean Bryant needed a dominate number 1 which is what he had. I might hurt the Kobe's feelings but you could of swapped Kobe for Vince, Tracy or Ray and I still believe Shaq would of got his three, that's how unstoppable he was at the time.
I still believe Pau deserves one of those finals mvp's, but somehow this man Kobe gets all the glory when we win but it's everyone else fault when we don't in these Stan eyes.Horseshoes & HollyWoodComment

Exactly why I can't wait until the sunsets on his career.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Not to interrupt these Kobe news flashes, but here is a bit of a Fear the Deer tale of the tape.
Actually, it's a Greek Freak highlight fest of his international Greek team.
Hopefully, he continues making the trey.
