Cousins is proven and it's beyond obvious he needs a change of scenery. Kobe is exactly what he needs in his ear everyday. Unlike Howard, I think Cousins could actually handle Kobe and become better because of him. If you're the Lakers GM and you can get him for ****ing Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, and the #2 pick, or some combination of that, you do that **** without blinking. Can't believe this is even a discussion because some people don't want to trade Jordan Clarkson of all people, rofl.

I think you miss their point. While I agree with your outcome it's not that far stretched. They can get Okafor and build around him and clarkson and Randle and get more guys in the future. If you get cousins to keep him after the three years you've gotta be competitive and if you get cousins and give away Randle clarkson and the pic that's all you have is cousins and a post injuries kobe to build around. Some laker fans are looking at the longer road post kobe and want more talent out of more guys as a collective group rather than just building solely around one dude.

Hell, people posted other moves that went down but nobody other than maybe 2 or 3 folks said anything about it mainly because it consisted of players/teams that nobody here cares about.

Just like last year's thread was all Cleveland talk.

Ridnor and Lamb traded - and yes people care about the Hornets and OKC
Where is Aldridge going to go, and how did his name even end up in rumors with San Antonio in the first place? Nobody ever wants to go there

Sure we went on with Miami already but will the Cavs lose Love whom Houston and Boston is also trying to get?

and I could go on.... Cmon man as of right now this is all fantasy talk among other things actually happening

But they won't be building around just Cousins. They have the cap space and the brand to go out and get guys that are capable of becoming a core along DMC.

You can still get to the same road either way though. If the Lakers get Cousins, I highly doubt he leaves. He's not Duh who thus far is the only person to turn down that extra money (I think that has more to do with wanting to get away from Kobe and the fact that dude is soft anyway but that's another story).

Plus you still have the flexibility to replace those guys and build a collective group because the most expensive guy on your roster (DeMarcus) will be making 15.7 and 16.7 million dollars. Guys are acting like that's some back breaking salary hit to rebuilding, but there were dudes in here at one point defending giving Kobe damn near 30 million dollars a year for the last two years.
