Athletes and their poor decisions.. I just can't imagine putting myself in a position to jeopardize millions of dollars.

No matter how much money people make some will jeopardize it all.

Money doesn't solve everything and life remains a strange experience. Can't blame them for being human beings with weaknesses.

Exactly, hopefully he straightens himself out and learns from this mistake. He's got NBA talent, but we've seen players with talent drop out of the league for similar reasons.

Not sure how much time he'll miss due to suspension but you have to think one is coming shortly. And why wouldn't he have his friend/lady friend hold the marijuana and exctasy?

You can most certainly blame someone for being too stupid to decide "I have the potential to make 5-10 million dollars this year. I want to smoke some weed though. But if I smoke this weed, I could potentially lose that money....**** it where's my lighter?"

You can't blame someone for being human and having a weakness like say....messing up a marriage because they got caught up with some skanks on the road. It's silly to mess that up, but it's understandable. Some reporter or interviewer on a random radio show somewhere or responding to a fan on Twitter or something in a negative and less than becoming way because they were being stupid and pissed you off. That's a human weakness that you reacted a certain way and it may end up getting you bad press. You could probably handle it better, but it's understandable. But putting your ability to make MILLIONS of dollars on the line to smoke a ****ing joint is inexcusable.

Why would money prevent people from addiction though ? I'am guessing theses guys have way more temptations than the regular guy.

I don't really see how there is a difference in the first scenario and the drug usage. I doubt most people even do a double take when they light up. At least with the affairs, hopefully, there's more of an active decision being made and an awareness to the situation. Still, I would classify both as human fallacies.

My primary point is that regular people do the same things on a regular basis. Whether your risking 20,000 or $20 million people are going to make the same mistakes.

Silly athletes with no self control. They only have a few years to hold off before they can retire and do whatever they want.

Meanwhile, I have to wait another 30 years before I can start weed and MDMA binges without worrying about any repercussions.

Just because I outlined how much money these guys are risking doesn't mean it doesn't apply to regular people. If you know you have a job that drug tests and you lose that job or put that job in jeopardy to smoke some ****ing weed (the least addictive of all vices) there's no sympathy for you and you are an idiot. It's just especially stupid for these guys because of how much money they are putting at risk. Yeah it's stupid to risk your 20,000 dollar a year job over weed, but it's a lot more stupid in my eyes to wind up on a road that can take your income from 5 to 16 or 17 million dollars a year to a doughnut or that $20,000 job.

Kings biting the Spurs' style. Trying to come for that Summer League title, Two Four!

Nancy Lieberman will become the second woman coaching in the NBA, according to Ailene Voisin of the Sacramento Bee. Sacramento Kings owner Vlade Divac said Thursday that he will be offering Lieberman a job on the team's coaching staff, and Lieberman confirmed that she would accept. The team is expected to announce the news next week.

"Definitely I'm going to offer her a job," Divac said. "George (Karl) and I talked about bringing her back after she helped us at Summer League (in Las Vegas). She was terrific. She brings a different dimension. I think is a nice opportunity for her."

Lieberman would join Becky Hammon as the league's only two female assistants. Hammon joined Gregg Popovich's staff in San Antonio last year, and was the head coach of the Spurs' Las Vegas Summer League team that won a championship earlier this month.

Lieberman was also active during Summer League, helping out the Kings in an unofficial capacity. She knows the NBA well, having served as the head coach of the Mavericks-affiliated Texas Legends from 2009 to 2011. Lieberman was the first woman ever to be head coach of a men's professional basketball team.

Lieberman's basketball resume is sterling. She was inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996 for her decorated career as a player at Old Dominion and for Team USA basketball. She also played for the short-lived Women's Pro Basketball League, as well as the WNBA in its inaugural year in 1997 at 39 years old. The next year she was hired as head coach and general manager of the Detroit Shock.

Oh it is stupid but just not more stupid than ruining your mariage and hurting your family in the process for a 'skank on the road'.

Back on topic for me anyway.

Their level of affluence is the last thing on their mind when making those decisions.

Whether some of these guys are addicts or not isn't for me to say. They have to be the one that identifies as such.

But I will say this, addiction does not discriminate. Rich, poor, white, minority, it matters not.
