Put a knucklehead in the right situation, he'll produce....Josh is in a situation now where the jumpers he takes aren't booed....but encouraged in that offense....other than that he just has to do the things he does well...hustle, rebound, block shots....if he's asked to do more than that....you'll see the Smith of old...

Clippers played better than I thought they would coming into the playoffs. Thought for sure they'd keep this ride going into the WCF but they blew that chance.
Got the 4 best teams all in the Conference Championship too, couldn't ask for a better set up.#RespectTheCultureComment

I guess it is, if you feel the digressed.. This is the best I've seen Blake or CP3 play in the playoffs, especially before CP3 was hurt.. The other guys, their weak points, are expendable anyways.. I would take that as a plus at the end of the day, your two marque guys playing the best basketball of their lives.
They should have won this series and had a chance to, even though Houston is clearly a deeper and more talented squad. I can't hate on the Clipps for that after beating the defending champs and dealing with the Paul injury.

It takes more than 2 guys to win a series. Lord there was no plus here. The playoffs are not about moral victories. Chris Paul wont be the top point guard in the league forever ans you can't waste his years on crap like turkoglu and starting matt Barnes multiple years.
The team itself definitely digressedComment

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Not with that swiss cheese defense they play. I think they'll get a few stops here and there, but they just don't play consistent enough defense for my tastes. Dallas gave them fits with their offense, GS' will shred them I think. Unless those jumpers aren't falling for GS, I think Houston is in trouble. I mean, this is why they play the games, so we'll see. I just don't think Houston wins more than two games though.
Oh, I agree. I think Dwight will block shots but that doesn't always equate to good defense, especially if they're blocked out of bounds. I think the Rockets biggest weakness has been in transition defense though. Add that with how sloppy they have been with the ball and the Warriors are going to feast on the fastbreak.

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
Honestly it would be back-to-back-to-back series' of him being consistent, cause he was big against Dallas too. Like I said earlier, clearly this dude is in contract year mode and he's trying to sucker somebody into giving him one last big *** contract he doesn't deserve. I just refuse to believe you can go from completely brain dead bballer, to balling the **** out the way he has in these playoffs so far. That other shoe is going to drop on Smith sooner or later, whether it's in these playoffs or at some point before the ink is dry on his next deal. He's this year's Lance Stephenson right now.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Western Conference Playoffs - 2nd Round Discussion Thread
I think we need to slow down on Smith lol.. Yeah he's playing good, he's made some big plays, but ain't nobody going to pay millions and millions for someone who is scoring 12 points a night.. It's pretty obvious that a role like this might have been what was best for him all along.

I'm not even sure I would say that. The guy played well in the last three games but was pretty bad in the previous 4. And against the Mavs he took advantage of Dirk, who was simply couldn't move on defense.
I don't know, I guess I can never look at a team that says "Go ahead Josh, take that step back 3" as the right situation for him. I guess we'll see how he does against Golden State.

I might be putting my foot in my mouth. But I don't expect him to keep it up. Especially on Warriors home court. I'd probably put Bogut in him. And play off him like they did vs Tony Allen.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

That's the thing... I think most of us (all of us probably) Would say if Smith was going to shoot a jumper. Let him.

I don't think I would go that far. Simply because I don't think the Warriors need to. They match up well so they'll do just fine playing straight up defense.
They'll probably help off of him pretty freely, though.

I'll go Golden State in 5. I think they are an awful matchup for the Rockets and Curry is going to put a hurting on the Rockets.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

I'd classify giving up 110 points per game during the series that way. The total number of games the series ends in doesn't tell the story of the series.Comment
