Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
What is Lebrons record in nba Championship series. 2/5? I can't remember? Oh never mind 2 wins 3 loses. Not bad.Last edited by Hockeynut99; 05-28-2015, 12:58 PM.Comment

Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Cavs won't need a go to low post scorer because LeBron will be that guy. Golden State playing small plays exactly into what Cleveland would want any team to do against them. There LeBron/TT lineup should more effective than it has at any point in the playoffs, IMO.
In the one game LeBron played them this year he abused them inside, ended up with 42 points on 60% shooting. 69% from 2 point range. They didn't have answers for him.
And Cleveland's biggest strength has been their half court offense. Thompson's keeps the majority of misses alive, and the role players are hitting shot after shot.
Also getting Golden State to play a half court game is exactly what you want. You want to slow them down, keep them off the breaks. That's how they make their runs, that's how they blow teams out..
Not saying any of that will continue, or that things will play out the exact way they did in the regular season for LeBron.. I expect Golden State to win the series. But Golden State's half court game isn't at all what would worry me. If the Cavs can control the pace and make it a half court vs half court game I actually think that's their best chance of beating them.
Cleveland is playing with the lowest pace of any team in the playoffs, along with the highest offensive efficiency rating. They want the game slow, they want LeBron to be able to control as much of the game as possible.

Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
I honestly don't know who I want or expect to win. A part of me wants to see LeBron win a title for that sad little city, and another part wants to see the Warriors shoot the lights out and win in 4.
All this being said, it's becoming apparent that Steph is the NBA's new golden boy. With how much spotlight and praise he's been given this year (myself included) I'd like to see him get knocked down in a game or two just to see how well he can respond to adversity.
I'm going to say Cleveland in 7. Going to be one of the best series in recent memory, IMO.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

A lot of guys posting that same LeBron stat line from one game. Did Steph Curry not play? What did he do? And why doesn't he end up having a brilliant series as well?

Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Golden State won't need to play small in this series though, nor will they as often as they did in the Houston series. Is GS really going to be worried about Mozgov's help defense, or Thompson out guarding Green on the perimeter in half court sets? Houston had the versatility that forced GS to play small more often.
Sure you want to stop GS in transition, but let's not forget that they were still the best passing team in basketball and lead the league in assisted FGs and are averaging roughly 50 points in the paint for the playoffs. They are still as it stands now, a superior half court team.
I'm positive that GS will be content with letting LeBron run iso sets and packing the paint waiting for him to arrive. Just turn it into a jump shooting contest. Golden State will win that every time.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
He had 18 in that game, 23 in the first one.
Kyrie had 24, 23 as well in the first.
They basically washed each other out.. Which is actually how their careers have been against each other. 5 games played and they have both averaged exactly 23.6 ppg.

Which is why I asked in the OP if we should take anything from those games, one of them or neither of them at all.#RespectTheCultureComment

And a bulk of their assists are in transition. They were the fastest paced team in the league this season.
They have started small since game 1 of the season. Green and Barnes starting.
I mean I agree Golden State is the better team, I agree they win the series.. I just think keeping it slow is exactly how you would want to play them.

Not really. Because 1.) regular season, and 2.) Cleveland had Love and a healthy Kyrie.

Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
One of the tougher calls to make, I keep going back and forth. I don't think this will be a cakewalk for GSW by any stretch of the imagination. They're still so inconsistent and careless at times. Don't know if it's playoff inexperience or just the way they are but it makes me nervous.
This Cavs team, without Love and with a banged up Kyrie, simply doesn't have the look or talent of a stereotypical NBA champ. Can LeBron actually win a title with himself, a bunch of role players and his #2 playing at about 60-70%? Golden State is more talented and a better team (chemistry, execution, depth, defense, etc) than anyone the Cavs faced in the East by a wide margin.

Re: The Finals 2015: Golden St. Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers
Conversation between my uncle and I last night. He's about 45 years old and a huge LeBron homer especially since he's from Cleveland. He was sitting across from me at Fridays wearing a LeBron jersey during the game last night...
Spoiler
Unk- Cavs bout to win it all this year!
Me- I dont think you guys can beat GS
- Man please!!! They a jumpshooting team! That type of team never wins.
- They are a great shooting team. But they are also the best defensive team in the league and just about the best offensive team.
- They aint got no post presence!
- What post presence do you guys have?
- LeBron!!!
- The Warriors post up just about everybody outside of Curry. They create inside scoring opportunities with their ball and player movement. Yall probably shoot just as much as they do.
- No we dont!
- I'll look it up.
- Look it up then!...you looking it up!?
- Hold on old man...Ok so GS is 9th in paint points. Cle is 23rd. Cle also attempts more 3s than GS during the season.
- Season!? Im talking about the playoffs! Tell me what it say about the playoffs!
- Thats not very accurate Unk. An 82 game sample against 29 teams is better than 12 games against 3 teams.
- Playoffs!! Look it up!!! Dont care about no regular season.
- GS takes the most 3s. Cle is second....annnddd GS still scores more points in the paint than Cle.
- Whatever man! We got LeBron!

I bet we all read that in the same "uncle voice"
Everyone here in Charlotte is rocking with Curry...
My mom called me talking about she wants Curry because 'she can't stand LeBron'
She's never seen him play a day in her lifeLast edited by The 24th Letter; 05-28-2015, 03:22 PM.Comment
