    NBA Challenges?

With NHL now approving challenges(for things like goalie interference, offside goals ect.), NBA is now the only one of the "big 4" pro sports to not have challenges.

A poll done awhile back on this site showed that people felt NBA has the worst refs in pro sports:
    http://www.operationsports.com/forum...s-umpires.html

So with that said, does anyone think NBA might one day implement coaches challenges? And if so, what should they be able to challenge?

I obviously think they should, and should be able to challenge things such as:
Out of bounds(like if a ball goes off someone, but the coach feels the call made, wasn't the right one)

Those "bang-bang" charge/blocking fouls(fouls might be abit questionable in terms of challenging, but this is the one type of foul I think could be challenge worthy)

    Traveling(at very least,traveling if it leads to a basket,so if a coach challenges and he's right,the basket doesn't count and it's a turnover. If he's wrong,the basket counts)
Those 3 are ones which I think would be worth challenging. Like I said, won't make sense challenging a regular foul, and things like if a guys foot was on 3point line is already reviewed. But something like traveling that leads to a basket, those split second block/charge foul calls, and if a ball goes out and ref says it's the wrong teams ball, are all things which seem like they'd work out if NBA had challenges.

    Re: NBA Challenges?

The reason basketball is the "worst officiated" is because so many of the calls are subjective and there's nothing that can be done about that, unfortunately. Speaking of the NFL you hear people say "they could call holding on every single play if they want to"... well basketball is a free flowing game, and there are 20 things that could be called on every single play. It'd be great to have more consistent officiating but imagine a game where absolutely everything that could be called is, and that's a miserable game to watch.

Personally, I'm on the side that keeps players from arguing balls and strikes and coaches from challenging penalties in the NFL. Subjective calls should not be up for review imo, so I don't see a challenge system being a good idea for the NBA.

The only one I could personally get behind would be for coaches to challenge the plays that are already allowed to be reviewed late in games. But I think they should be reviewing these without a challenge needed throughout the game anyway.
