He definitely needs some space and freedom to chuck some shots to be successful on offense.
Umm he played NO minutes at the 3 last year. All at the SG position. The rest of it, I agree with you completely. Even if he gets D League minutes the kid needs to play. I don't want him to be the 12th man on our roster that role should have belonged to Wallace and Young up in Maine in the D-League.

If they are going to chase the 7th or 8th seed again he can't play, he's not ready for that yet. Half the roster plays the same position so it's going to be tough to find minutes for him so he's probably better off in the d league for another year. He's not taking Crowder's minutes and it seems like a combination of Thomas/Bradley/Smart will be on the floor a lot. The only problem is he might be a little too good to get a lot out of d league minutes but it's better than being the 12th man. From looking at his stats in the d league he shot really well from 3 so it's not like he needs to develop a shot or anything just needs to round out his game.

That Spurs-Jazz game was rough on the eyes. Outside of Hood, no one really looked like they deserve a spot.

Also, Okafor looks pretty fat out there. He def needs to get some conditioning in.

Totally agree - Philly is all worked up about his first two performances, but what I'm seeing is a slightly overweight (by the sport's standards), slow, unconditioned big man with good - definitely not great - post moves to make up for it. I'm not impressed at all yet. He's been getting blown by on fastbreaks by other big men and they have no trouble staying with Okafor on defense.

One other thing - I don't understand why T.J. McConnell plays so much. I don't even understand why he's on the team at all. If you wanted a true PG who passes first and shoots second, you could have gotten one with any semblance of athleticism or even a left hand. He doesn't even have a good handle and his vision is sub-par. His assists at Zona were mostly normal passes to scorers in position. If he ever makes the team he'll be worked by NBA pgs. The only thing he brings to the table is hustle on D and "setting the tone on offense." I compare him to Scott Machado and I'm scratching my head.

Maybe putting too much thought into SL lol.

That may be why the lakers passed on him. I remember when the lakers ended up with the 2 pick Mitch saying : There is two very talented big men in the draft and we'll have one of them.

They definately saw something they didn't like at the workouts.

Yup, watching it now. Hood is legit, Anderson is okay, everybody else has been hot garbage. Bryce Cotton is definitely better than how he's played, though.

I don't know how Brock Motum is still getting a shot at the NBA. The dude is terrible.

What about his shot? What are people saying about it? I think it could actually benefit him. If it works, it works. Plus, having that low release point can allow you to get it off way quicker. Rather than screwing with it, and having it become slower and go in less.

Love his game though. Freak athlete.

Yup. Think he was one of the most talented players in the draft (ahead of Russell and Winslow).

As a Pistons fan, I'm actually kind of excited about the future. Not saying he's a franchise changing player but I feel like he could be a lockdown defender who averages around 18 & 7. Especially if his shot becomes more consistent.

I definitely wouldn't mind him tweaking it a little as he really does shoot low, but like you said if it works it works. All I can ask is that he become consistent with it if he doesn't change his form. If he does change it, I'd like to see him elevate his shot a little more as it seems to have almost no arc lol.

Don't know how to quote two posts in one sorry
