Here is my take on NBA live3 and a ? for Steve

I think from the videos that NBA live 2k3 looks ten time better than NBA2k3(sega). Im amazed at the 250 plus post on this forum for NBA2k3. I understand that live lost some fans due to the fact the last 2 versions are mere clones or worse yet that last yr version was worse than live 2k1. I think the freestyle is very innovative and isnt a gimmicky add on but very essential to Lives gameplay.

I loved NBA live from the PS1 days but i do agree the Live on PS2 has sucked so far but this yr is the beginning of a great resurgents. Ive rented NBA2k2 and even with its deeper franchise modes the player models look like plastic and they move very stiffly. I couldnt get into the gameplay with NBA2k3 and after returning Live2k2 after one day of buying it i ended up with no b-ball game last yr. Im starving for a good basketball game and i think Live has begun to make progress. I think with almost making no improvements to last yrs game this yrs version should've had more improvements but the freestyle control is the biggest selling point. Has anyone seen the Intro to the LIve? Man that was a tight video clip with the 360 behind the back dunk at the end of the intro. Live 2k3 being online is a great addtion and i expect to be playing this yrs game for a long time.To top it off i heard some of the music from Live 2k3 with all the biggest artist in the biz and this seems to be one of the best sound tracks to date for any game.

Steve i read the interview but is there any sliders for NBA live2k3? Will u be able to keep a song u enjoy to hear or only be able to choose the song with the new trac mode where u hit square and r1?

I dont know how you can claim any game looks better than the other from watching those videos. They arent exactly that clear.

No, Live 2003 is the only game out of the 3 w/o sliders

First of all those arent the only videos ive seen. Ive seen over 26 videos of Live from IGN.COM. Live players faces may not blow u away but the movements are more realistic and they have individuality. Just like Madden the players in Live series have attributes the real players do by the signature moves etc. The intro on some videos of Sega's NBA2k3,since i figure u are a fan of them, look stiff like when they were giving pound to their teammates. Plus all the videos ive seen of NBA2k3 dont impress me. Lives intro is phat with hip hop music to get your blood rushing. LIke some else described NBA3k2 the gameplay is too sluggish. Even if u dont like hip hop the lyrics always describe the players while they do their moves verses listening to ESPN music which everone should be tired of if they have cable tv.

So You are buying a game for the Hip hop soundtrack. Look Ima buy live for CPU but ima get NBK23 for Xbox. Live is just heading the direction of an arcade game. If the knicks are playing like the Mavericks I will be highly upset. Ima wait and see but everyone needs to just pick thier game wait till it comes and then come back and comment, but stop this my GAME is better than yours crap till you actually have the GAMES in your possession

I don't want to put you down but Until I see some god darn proof of where the Freestyle controlling is taking place, than I'm staying clear minded about my gaming experience.

I have watched over 20 videos of live and and yet to see anything special. Nba2k3 hasn't shown anything too special either, but just from gaming experience, I may stick to 2k3.

Yep, I'm a smartass. I find it funny that you claim any game has better gameplay than another without playing it. Are you going off of last year? Live 2002 was a horrible game with bad late game AI and a rebounding bug. 2k2 had its problems but was clearly the better game.

If you arent going off of last years games what are you going off of? Videos? I'm gonna by 2k2 and Inside Drive and if I hear good things about Live I will buy it. But i wont buy it blindly like you

I thought steve said he made adjustments in Live to reduce the number of blocks?

That would indicate that there is some sort of tweaking that was done.

You can adjust the fouls in the game by going to the "Rules" section. I didn't see any other sliders within the game. Again this is a Beta and I haven't competely gone through all the options, so it could be there, but it's not in any obvious location. As far as I could see, you can select from Arcade to Simulation and turn CPU assistance on or off. Thats the only thing I found so far.

The AI will block your shot, but not as much as you block theirs. I've been messing with the attributes of players, and I'm noticing a lot less blocks.

                        <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

steve said this, so apparently with some tweaking the large number of blocks can be remedied.
