Love Grant Hill, but unless his prime is just on some other level that we never got to see from him then I say LeBron and pretty easily.

    • If you had no idea who the supporting cast would be would you rather build a squad around KD or AD?

AD in a heartbeat. He is only 22 so still has at least 12-15 more years in the league, barring injury. Also I like me a great defensive guy and AD is that.

I would rather have Prime Lebron James than Grant Hill. Have you seen Lebron James in his beast mode? He's a killer in the court. He's unstoppable.

Derailing the format already but the first question is a bit unfair... did we ever see a "Prime Grant Hill" to even know what that would've looked like?

            Better Dynasty:

Late 90's Bulls run or >2000's Spurs run?

That's kinda what I meant in my post. I do think that Grant Hill's prime would have to be unpredictably better than what we saw to compare him to LeBron though. I would go as far as saying a pre-prime LeBron over what we got to see from peak Hill anyways.

I would compare Hill more so to Scottie Pippen, with a possibility that his prime would be better than Scottie's especially from an offensive stand point.

Bulls reached the point where they seemingly never lost games, which will always put them ahead of lots of dynasties. That along with having the GOAT.

Spurs have had a few more ups and downs, but their span of winning has been unmatched by any modern franchise. Also, I do believe they've beaten slightly better competition and their road to the finals has been rougher than what Chicago had in the east.

It's at least debatable. No coincidence both teams had 2 of the arguably top 3 coaches in league history.

I do believe that the 2013 Spurs played better in that playoff run, particularly the finals, than any team I've ever watched in my lifetime. Not saying they had the most talent or anything, but they were clicking to perfection at both ends, regardless of which bench players were in the game as well. I've never witnessed a team quite like that, take out your best player and you're still clicking, take out your floor general still clicking, take out your back-bone for the past seemingly 20 years and still clicking.. It was pretty ridiculous to say the least.

Haha I couldn't make a decision! Either scenario is basically having a dream-like career.

I would probably pick Chicago, but I was also a massive Jordan/Pippen, and therefor Chicago, fan. So I can't claim that there is 100% un-biased reasoning there, because I'm just not going to pick against my dudes from the 90's.

With that said I do think that Spurs team from 2013 could compete with, or perhaps even beat, any team the league has seen. Maybe aside from a dominant Shaq bullying Duncan/Splitter. And saying that when that teams talent level is pretty inferior to the 80's Lakers, Celtics, Jordan/Pippen, Pistons bad boys, Moses sixers, etc. speaks volumes to how great of a franchise they have been. From personnel, game plan, coaching, they've just made everything work to perfection. And now it seems as if they can continue that for a few more seasons with Kawhi and LA, it's just amazing really.

Props to the Spurs but my vote would be for Chicago. The goal is to win a ring, and the Spurs did what they needed to each of those years to do just that. But Chicago was dominant... regular season and playoffs. Everybody knew they were going to win every year... had to be the least odds ever in Vegas.

With that said, the Spurs are still going, so the longevity is more amazing. More moving parts but still continued success.

Spurs and Bulls is a hard one to choose. I have no rooting interest this (but never saw the Bulls play). You got the Bulls that dominated in both the regular and postseason. Have the best regular season record of all time and the GOAT. And one could debate Phil is the greatest coach of all time but the same could be said about Pop. But I think I gotta go with the Bulls.

Another one: coach Phil Jackson, Pop or Red Auerbach?

Definitely Popovich. The job that he has done with guys who have been essentially d-leaguers and other teams' garbage (Danny Green, Boris Diaw), as well as with foreign talent is tremendous. He got everybody to buy into his system regardless of talent level or playstyle.

Besides that and you see everybody trying to emulate the "Spurs-style." The Spurs have been the trendsetters the last 10 years when it comes to building a team and running it, and Popovich is arguably the biggest reason as to why that is.

That and really if you look at the make up of some of their rosters they are pretty much the only team to achieve a "dynasty" without having arguably the best roster in the league every single season.

I feel like if you take a look at how the Celtics/Lakers were constructed you understand why they were in nearly every single finals during the 80's, and you look at how those Bulls squads were built and they were always a team that was without a doubt the preseason favorites, look at how dominant Shaq was and Kobe the only consistently great perimeter player during that span and it's a no brainier why they made 4 straight finals as well.
