    Hoopscity Live is up

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Hoopscity Live is now up and running. If you're interested in NBA Live 2003 league action for the PC, check it out.

Cool site. Only drawback for me is that I have an XBOX and plan on getting NBA2k3 and ID2003... hehe

Once I get all the stat tracking stuff finished, I might add support for Xbox and PS2, so stay tuned.

        Terrific site design. I'm impressed.

I wish I could afford NBA Live 2003 for PC and still afford XBox Live and NBA 2K3, but alas, I can't.

The PC version ships November 5th. You can start submitting games November 8th.

Apparently Live 2003 doesn't support modem-to-modem play, but you should be able to play through EA's matchmaker, or perhaps even direct IP... I will test out dial-up options as soon as the game comes out.

Surely the most prominent issue with dial-up play would be lag.

Was that a problem with any of the other PC Live games when played via dial-up?

I was playing live 2001 on the pc a few days ago and the lag was terrible. I have cable but I was thinking that maybe i played a dialupper.

Now a days most gamers onlne go with DSL or cable.

Yeah, lots of lag and lots of disconnects... very frustrating. High speed play is not without its problems, but its a lot smoother than dial-up.

I think EA should emulate FPS network play. If you can have 32 people running around in Counter-Strike, how come EA can't get 10 people running around? It would be cool to play real 5-on-5.
