I hate the strategy, Pop doing that **** in the midst of runs where we were leading probably cost us that series last year. I also understand the entertainment aspect, I really do.

At the same time, the tactic is putting someone on the free throw line to take two uncontested shots at the basket. It's hard for me to feel like anyone is being victimized.

Blake Griffin was once a hack-a candidate, and he worked his tail off not to be...others should follow suit...

The notion that Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan don't work on free throws is hilarious to me. It's not 2k. You can't just pour gold coins into a stat and watch it increase. Some dudes just can't make them. It's like thinking a baseball player isn't practicing because he never hits .300.

We have this discussion every year here(or on Twitter depending on who you are)and people cherry pick 1-2 regular season games and pick out the same 2 players(Dwight and DJ)and then keep quiet til the playoffs, pick out 2 games from there and then scream out "THE RULE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE IM NOT BEING ENTERTAINED". Or change them because a handful of guys can't even be AVERAGE from the line yet other players that play the same position don't have that issue.

And the notion that you can't tell what a player has been working on, especially if it's been an issue before, is straight bull****. Especially when the results are right there in front of you.

I agree with everything. Except your last point. We have no way of knowing how much any of these guys actually work on their free throws. Until you can see their daily lives there is no definitive answer to that.

Pack what have the Pistons, Rockets and Pistons been doing during practice recently? Because if you can tell us definitely that Drummond, Jordan and Howard haven't been working FT's during practice this should be an easy question for you to answer.

          Also on an unrelated note:
Clippers have traded Josh Smith back to Houston, sources tell Yahoo. Clippers are sending cash to Houston with Josh Smith, covering the balance of his salary. Houston only sending draft rights to Clippers.

So you're saying since we aren't there in person with them to watch their form, that means we have no way of knowing if they're working on their FTs? I'm sorry but that might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard, especially when the results are right there telling you if improvement is being made or not. If you're improving in a certain skill, the numbers will ALWAYS show that.

Y'all can't be this stupid or naive now, come on lol

Who said we expected 2Kesq instant results though?

If some can't make them then that's cool. But again, why should they be rewarded for it?

They are probably practicing but aren't really changing their mechanics/form. Whether its just stupidly on the player's part or the organization part, it goes back to my original suggestion of trying to shoot underhand

Not everyone can just get better at something man. If life were that easy we would all be rich. I didn't say they were improving. I said we have no way of knowing whether they are trying or not trying to improve.

I find it very had to believe that Blake Griffin worked extremely hard on his free throws, while being Jordan's teammate, and Jordan just decided not to join him. We've heard some of their coaches say on live TV that's it's something they work on as well.

Doc needs to give up those GM Duties man. He has to know that he's not helping the team doing both jobs.

It's not rewarding them. It's rewarding me. I don't know why people get so caught up in the morals of this one particular rule. No one can say that they enjoy watching it. So folks will literally defend something that they do not enjoy for reasons that... I can't figure out.

I just want to watch basketball when I turn to a basketball game. I'm a consumer. I want to consume the best possible product. If there's a change to make the product better, whoever/whatever benefits/is hurt by this change is just collateral damage.

I understand it's just a handful of players but why not iron out the 3% of your product that's bad. Why sit and act like there's nothing you can do? Why wait until it affects a larger portion of your inventory? Why not be proactive?

I think you can practice free throws a lot in practice situations but they don't translate to game situations always. If Jordan knocks down 80% of his FTs in practise under no pressure what good is it when later that night he goes to the line with the Clippers down by 5 with a very loud opposing crowd?

...because the NBA is about money and won't change anything until it affects THEIR bottom line.

..and im sorry but Jordan aint improving in anything at all. I refuse to believe he's putting in all of these practice hours and doing all of these drills and there is no evidence, no video, no pics, no one talking about it, and no proof on the court. He hasn't improved in any area at all.

He's literally a worse player than he was a season ago
