Here is an insight into why Fournier took that deal with the Magic and the kind of person/player he is. Here is a quote translated from an interview in yesterday's paper in France from Bouna Ndiaye, Fournier's agent, about Fournier decision:
"Three teams offered Fournier the max. But we had no interest in those franchises, because they are not in a position to win. Evan immediately refused. He doesnt want to go anywhere just for money. After all, you can always find a way to get more money... but people speak without knowing everything. First of all, Evan really wants to play in the Olympics in Rio, if France qualifies and if Evan is called up. But if he signed on like July 15-20th, he couldn't be called up... Also, I dont want to make common place of what's going on in the NBA, but those amounts of money are huge, almost ridiculous. Making 17 or 20 millions, the difference is meaningless, it doesnt make any sense. After that, it becomes a matter of ego. You take as much as you want without thinking about where you're going and why you're going there.
Obviously, we could have dragged things longer. But if you want a quick deal, you have to compromise. We are totally satisfied with the negotiation. And Evan has an opt-out after the fourth year."

Not sure I understand this signing.

The 'Wolve still have (I believe) both Deing and Pekovic under contract and have a huge need for perimeter shooting, but go out and spend cap space on another big man?

      What?

Aren't the Wolves planning on moving Pekovic?

I know he hasn't been healthy in a while or been effective like he used to be a few years ago.

                Per Alex Kenndy,

Hearing Kevin Durant is strongly considering Warriors. He meets Thunder tonight, then he's likely to announce decision on @PlayersTribune.

It looks like they still have 22 million in cap space and I doubt Pekovic is in their plans so I don't think they care.
