Yeap, after the new years, Oladipo was coming off the bence for awhile.

Supposedly, Skills wanted to quit in mid-January. He told assistant coach Adrian Griffin that he regretted taking the job. Griffin then went to Hennigan and ever since then it was discontent between Skills and the front office.

I think he could still be effective but the difference between his peak and now is great.

That doesn't mean he still can't play. He had a good season or at least the first half when he was shooting really well.

It's just that he gets in trouble with some matchups on the other end.

Interested to see what Pat could do leading a team, kind of sad it's not here honestly.

REALLY hoping the Lakers don't try to sign Derozan to a max deal.

He is not worth that AT ALL in my book.

Few players are worth the max honestly. Sadly, I can see us giving it to him.

Lakers will have to spend some of their money somewhere. And they will have to overpay unfortunately.

If the pick is lost this week then the amount that the Lakers will overpay FA's will go way up IMO, because of crushing loss of a potential star player.

I'd rather play the long game than spend money just to spend it.

2017 and 2018 free agency is way better. Cousins, Harden, Griffin, Westbrook...among others.

Throw the money at them while letting our young guys develop for the next year or two.

Yeah sure ideally that would be the way to go but Lakers also are a business. I'am hoping the lakers skip on DeRozan too but I think they are commited to not be in the lottery next year and will try to acquire some good players this summer. He'd still be better than anything we have on the roster.

And also to attract theses free agents in 2017, 2018 you have to have shown dramatic improvements. We won't be attractive if we suck again next year. Lakers need some good players, and I won't hate on DeRozan if thats what they get. Sure he ain't no superstar, he isn't gonna be the guy but he still can help the Lakers. We won 17 games last year, 17. We are just not good enough to be super picky.

What's crazy is that the salary floor next year will only be 2 million less than what the luxury tax amount is for this year. At least 82 million is going to be spent on player salaries next year no matter what, so every team that isn't already up against the cap will be overpaying on some level. So it's really a matter of committing long term to players or having high salaried one year rentals again for L.A. in order to keep the cap flexibility.

I hope the Nets don't go crazy this offseason.

To use a Baseball analogy, just go for singles and doubles to start off. And once we start showing progress next year, then go for home runs.

Lol this makes no sense. When Bird talks about what he wants our offense to look and play like Nate McMillan is one of the last guys he should hire. Not to mention he preached needing a new voice so he hires a guy who's been on the team for 2 years?
