I think where people see the difference is with the caliber of player mixing with the caliber of the team..

To make a comparison.. This would be more like after Miami "formed" and made two straight finals, and THEN a top 5 player like Chris Paul, or D Rose, or someone came and joined them. Or better yet, Paul George after losing to them in the playoffs. And all they had to lose to make that gain was Mike Miller, Joel Anthony, something along those lines.

If we couldn't get Pat the Rat banned for sending Wade out to the Olympics with Heat applications 2 years in advance of free agency, I don't see what punishment anyone thinks is appropriate or what changes need to happen.

Anyone that thinks KD signing with the Spurs would've been better are saying that because it would make a better movie, there's just no logic to that.

OJ: Moses won MVP in 81 (and got knocked out of the playoffs in the first round), became a free agent, signed with the 76ers who were coming off of a Finals loss to the Lakers. Is that similar enough or is the sticking point that he had just lost to the team he went to? Also, are you just saying you don't like what Durant did or do you think the league needs to do something to combat it? And you have no problem with the Heat Big 3 right?

Not much of a difference there.

If that were the only difference. The Spurs didn't just beat them in the playoffs, they don't have the two time MVP, they don't have the scoring champion, they didn't just make 2 straight finals, their 4 best players aren't all in their prime and still improving, they didn't just break the record for most wins of all time. There is a difference outside of the win total.

As a fan, I would rather see KD get it done there because his role would be bigger. As a scorer he fills a bigger need in SAS, and he could have a chance at beating the team who just beat him the past year. If San Antonio one it all he improves them more than if GS won it all. It would feel the way it's supposed to feel, the impact that a player of his caliber is supposed to provide.

But KD gotta do what's best for KD. So I can't hate on the guy. But we can all have a preference as fans no?

Adam Silver get's owned by Kevin Durant's mom

Adam Silver might not think super teams are good for the NBA, but Kevin Durant's mom doesn't see a problem with her son joining the Golden State Warriors.

While talking to reporters before Wednesday's ESPY awards, Silver told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer that Wanda Durant explained to him why her son's decision is different than other players joining forces.

"The one thing I have learned, I was just talking to Kevin Durant's mom, every situation is different," Silver told the outlet. "This was a team in Golden State where they have three all-stars who were all drafted. A team that's under the cap. And one free agent, who also happens to be a superstar, makes a decision to go to that team. It's very different than if multiple players from different teams had come together and said let's all land on yet a completely different team."

That example Silver described sounds eerily similar to what Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh decided to do in the summer of 2010, creating an unprecedented Big 3 in Miami. Granted, Wade was already on the Heat but he was a free agent that summer, too.

Silver acknowledged how difficult of a decision this is for players, especially for superstars who dedicate so much time to their communities.

"Every situation is unique, and these players have difficult decisions to make," Silver said. "Of course they want to win. I'm sure it was very difficult for him to leave the Oklahoma City community. Look at the incredible things he's done there over the years. So these decisions are always difficult, and these are young men. It's a lot of responsibility."

Philly's offer to Manu that forced San Antonio's hand, sources say, was a two-year pact at roughly $30 million (Year 2 partially guaranteed)

Can Silver just find a corner somewhere and sit there for awhile.

                Unrestricted means what exactly?

I'm going backwards here and answering the last part of your post first. I don't have a problem with KD leaving, he's a free agent and I don't believe in the whole "he owes it" to anyone crap. I don't think the league needs to make changes. I didn't have a problem with the Heat.

All I'm saying is that SOME people are going to view this differently because it is in fact different. I don't see how people believe otherwise. But no, I don't have an issue with it.

For the other parts of your post, San Antonio, to me, would have been a better fit because it would be Durant's team. He would obviously be the best player on the team, the go to scorer, if they did indeed win it all his overall impact wouldn't be much different then with OKC where he just left. Durant winning as a teams clear cut best player, the player who forms their identity would be the way I as a fan would want to see a player of his caliber win a ring.

People mocked the whole "legacy" thing and said none of it matters if he gets a ring and blah blah.. But it absolutely does matter, maybe not to KD but in the grand scheme of things.. People still to this day will discredit Kobe because "Shaq's team" even though he has two rings himself after moving on. And some of the same people saying it doesn't matter now will be the ones coming in with "he had to join GS to win" whenever Durant's career is over and people label him better than some guys from "their generation"... So yes, from my perspective it does somewhat matter on how his career will be judged, and yes would have been viewed differently if he won with OKC, SAS, even though the regular season win total wasn't a large gap.

Moses didn't leave a team that had another top 3-5 player was clearly in finals contention, or good enough to beat LAL/BOS if he had stayed.. That's the other side of why this situation is unique. Durant left an already great situation.

Three creditable NBA reporters have shot down the stupid Blake Griffin/Boston trade rumor. Can't wait to see what name is attached to the team in trade talks tomorrow. Sick of these silly, weightless internet rumors gaining legs.

My sources told me Boston is trading for Westbrook tomorrow. Done deal for Marcus Smart, the Brooklyn picks and 25% ownership of TD Garden.

Believe me I do, but it becomes a pain when I can't turn on the tv without local sports media speculating over a trade rumor started by some nobody on the Internet.

Think of it this way. They could spend 4 hours talking about the Brady appeal or talk about rumors? Which would you rather have? I'll take the lesser of 2 evils and take some talk on rumors (whether they are real or not).
