I know it must be nice to have that extra 100 mil or so but at this point you and you're family are set for life with either deal you make, plus got shoe deals for money and commercials, etc. Go get you your ring bruh.

Did you just call 100 million dollars "nice to have"?

The extra $100 or $200 million makes a difference if he wants to buy a franchise like MJ did.

Or if he's worried about marrying someone and having to pay a big divorce settlement.

Or if he wants to collect Gulfstreams.

I agree with both sides. It's a ton of money to leave on the table, and I wouldn't fault him AT ALL for taking it and never looking back, that isn't to say he won't have a ton of money anyway. I could see a guy saying "Eh im already going to have 400+ mil, I'll take the ring over making it 500" but I would say "100 million? Yes please." There's always the possibility it doesn't work out, look at David West. Took the minimum to get knocked out in the 2nd round.

What are the numbers for "another team next year" assuming he resigns for 1 year in OKC? I'd assume he wouldn't be leaving 100 mil on the table.

I think with Bosh Miami would be right there as a championship contender but yeah blood clots are a big thing and its not like you can go in and fix it like you can with a bad knee or something. I know if it was me it would be hard to sit out because I love basketball and I would love nothing more then being a NBA player but better to have your health then end up dying from it or having some sort of stroke and being in much worse shape after.

2-year deal w/ no NBA out clause.

Curious to know if there were no NBA top assistant job offers. Were there not any or was he not interested in that type of position? I had read Blatt wanted to stay in the NBA a few weeks back.

Is that KD 208 million in 5 years thing really true? That is like a little over 41 million a year that is nuts! I have never heard of someone making more then like 30 million a year before. Considering how much he has made so far and is going to continue to make and with the Nike deal or what ever he is going to end up being one of a few athletes to make a billion or more.

I heard he got 2 mil guaranteed and he gets to keep the Cavs money obviously, do assistants generally make that? Could've been that, could've been him wanting to lead, could've been him wanting to get away, who knows?

Kerr was interested last year in having Blatt be an assistant until he got the Cavs job.

Warriors now looking to replace Luke Walton too.

Anyways, Warriors probably partly responsible for getting Blatt fired, the way they won at Cleveland during the season.

lol, we need to have a thread like the Lebron one a few years ago, with everyone voting on where they think he ends up. Miami finished tied for 2nd in voting, though I'm guessing before he chose Miami, they were probably 4th on that list(behind Cleveland,Chicago,NY).

Outside of OKC and GS, don't know where else he might really fit in so great/be in a better position than he is right now. Being on Boston probably puts them in a position similar to the Raptors now. ECF potential, but will lose to Cavs.

                                (being half serious here lol)

Philly need to try sign LeBron, Durant, Gasol and Conely!

Then round out the roster by filling in solid role players via trading away their 2016 picks, Noel/Okafor, etc.

They can keep some shooters for floor spacing like Covington, Hollis Thompson, and Stauskas. I'm sure having LeBron and Durant will give these guys much easier looks.
