I also dont think the cavs will shoot like that again. Just ridiculous bad defense out there. The east sucks this year anyway
Hawks D wasn't that bad and they were more than capable since they were the second best defensive team in the league in points given up per 100 possessions. It's just that Cleveland's shooting was historic, nothing we've ever seen from a team before. They had too many weapons that were on fire for any team to handle, combined with having LeBron & Kyrie to worry about.

      Oh God

It was bad defense. Half thr time guys were wide freaking open and they did nothing to stop that and this was every game.

Dont come quoting some regular season stat to try to prop up the cavs. Its nauseating

It's called picking your poison. You can't expect every guy to be covered on every possession when they have LeBron/Irving driving + dishing, not to mention Cleveland is a very good passing team.

Glad I stopped watching this series after the first game, pretty much. What a bore.

The way Atlanta lost the first game of this series I knew it was going to be a short one. The Cavs were too much for them.

It'll be interesting to see how rusty they are after all this rest as I foresee the Heat/Raptors series going 7.

Kevin Love has never lost a playoff game. 12-0

ATL is a good team man, but you couldn't design a worse match up for them and that's what the playoffs are about....match ups.

People say 'take away the 3' like it's just a magic defense you can start running to cover everyone at 25 feet and protect the rim at the same time, lol

Kind of a strange point to make when we went into this series in exactly the same way.

Yeah, except the Raps or Heat are a better matchup. The Hawks couldn't do anything against em.

Precisely. And when you have two of the very best ISO players in the game in LeBron and Irving, who also excel at passing the ball, surrounded by 3 point shooters who all happened to be on fire...it's a tough matchup for any team.

They'll run into teams more equipped to handle it from here on out though...they definitely won't get all the extra possessions they got this series and they'll run into personnel that can adequately switch and defend those P&R's better than ATL did...

but yeah, you definitely have to be prepared for their talent..

That "on fire" part is key especially in regards to Isolation.

Sure they were outmatched but the effort wasn't top quality either.

I don't see how anyone could look at that and deny that many open 3s don't happen by chance.

I didn't say stop but they were just blatantly wide open with no one even running towards the ball far too much.

You know if the Spurs did that Pop would bench the entire starting 5

ECF shouldn't be a problem, though Miami will pose more of a challenge than Toronto, particularly with LeBron.

The Finals are a different story because both GS and SA can leave Iggy/Kawhi 1on1 with LeBron, which will dramatically change their offense. The Irving/Smith/LeBron/Love/Frye lineup has very lethal potential though, offensively anyway.
