After watching a lot of the videos i have to say i'm leaning towards NBA Live in this department. The movements in 2K3 don't seem to look as smooth, kind of awkward sometimes. It's just preliminary videos and I haven't made a decision on which to buy yet, but what do you guys think?

Player movement, goes to nba live so far. I like the dunks and the ammount of times they occur, and what players are capable of doing them, im leaning towards the nba2k series.
If anything at all will divide these two games, it will only be the GAMEPLAY. Both games have their own special qualities, but its going to be about preference and not about what game is better.
A tough choice, just as it was for nfl gamers. -

Easy Choice IMO. Easily i go with NBA 2k3 even before the movies and screenshots came out. And i was willing to change my purchase but I don't trust Live. And I don't know if I ever will. The Graphics have gotten worse even though you didn't ask for that I just have to say it because it bothers me so much. As far as the gameplay I go with NBA 2k3 also. Live it is too easy to score and is too fast for me. Also little things bother me like the net not moving when you make it and how the ball never seems to bounce off the rim. And how the rim doesn't bend when you dunk the ball. I doubt the rebounding is fixed and The Franchise is Garbage. After all that I don't see why anyone would buy Live unless they don't really care what their getting and they just want a basketball game so they're going with the biggest company. WHo know's well I know I'm getting NBA 2k3.Comment

adam, the franchise in live last year was more in depth than nba2k2, but that's about it.
I think they've even upped, with many nba2k3 getting a higher nod with all there new features (compliments to Steve for posting the franchise screen shots)Comment

I think live is better with animation and movement(Going by the videos) When the players in NBA 2k3 move they slide before taking a step, check it out in the latest videos. Live Has better movement for sure!Comment

Wally,I was talking about that Adam guy. Look at some of the posts he makes. All he does pretty much is bash one thing while talking up another. Like one of his statements...."I'm truly disappointed in NBA Live 2003 this year." How in the heck can you be disappointed with something that you haven't even played yet? It's just something that bites at me a little. Maybe fanboy was too strong a word,but still.Comment

Yeah, maybe he had anticpated a nbaliveXXXX game for a few months and was totally devasted with it.
That's how life is and it's an opinion of his to already state a game sucks when it hasnt been released, it's just not totally politically correct, thats all.
Though, just because it's an opinion doesn't make it sound stupid, that sort is a bad way of bashing a game. At least wait for a wrriten account of how "bad" a game is with evidence from the reviewer's, before bashing

Listen Live disapointed me last year. I was truly devasted by how bad it sucked. It was pretty much Unplayable. I thought i would go with Live and it sucked. SO i took it back for about $30 and made up the rest of the money and bought 2k2 and I loved it. And after seeing the screenshots and videos of Live 2003, it just looks like the same exact game. And the Player faces are horrible. It doesn't how much you like Live you have to admit the faces are horrible and thats inexcusible with todays technology. With NBA 2k3 you know your getting at least a solid basketball game. With Live you have no clue what your gettin. COuld end up good. (which i doubt) But it has a high chance of being a total dissapointment and I'm not wasting $50 on Live again. But I am without a doubt not a fanboy. Because even when i loved NBA2k and NBA2k1 i went with Live 2002 and thought i would try out the Live series cuz it was good in the past. But after playing it I was crushed. So now I'm going with NBA 2k3 unless Live turns it around pretty soon which I don't see happening. At least not with Live 2003, but I could be wrong. I would hope so because having more great basketball games is better for everyone.Comment

i agree with a few of your points..Lives Facial are pretty horrible..But the game wasnt unplayable. in fact i have both live and NBA2k2.While i loved 2k2 gameplay there was one thing that annoyed me was the Franchise mode that was pretty horrible. So ended up keeping live which was pretty fun and had a deep franchise mode. Only thing with live was the players were out of control the constant high pace of running back and fourth no one running plays just cross over and shoot..Hopefully they make that better..but this year im going with 2k3 after seeing those pictures of the franchise mode there is no way i cant.. And yes Franchise Mode is a big thing to me and its one of the aspects i judge in game.

Okay,Adam whatever floats your boat guy. But from listening to Steve the game sounds very much improved. And besides from replays,when are you gonna be noticing a player's face? Has long has it fixed the gameplay problems Live should be alright. And from listening to game reviewers that have played Live,it seems that they have. But we'll see.Comment
