I can only think of 3 coaches in college or pro who really emphasis the fundamentals and they are Larry Brown, Bobby Knight and Jim Boeheim. I feel what your saying, it not like they can't hit the mid range shot, its just not taken you gotta remember these guys are pro's and about 60-70% got a mean jumpshot ... It just needs to be emphasized more to take one or two dribbles from the three and pull up ...

those coaches are amazing teachers of the game, but even though he just won a championship and knows what hes doing, I hate that Larry Brown doesn't play the younger guys as much, this is completely off topic by the way, its cool to sit guys for the Pistons, but in the olympics me and my older brother were watching and he gave Bron and Melo no burn towards the last few games, and everytime those 2 got in they made something happen whether it was defense or getting the guys to run(Bron), I was just trying to understand his rationale, especially whe Melo was riding a hot streak a couple of games then all the sudden he wasn't playing anymore, maybe Larry just doesn't like youngsters ... dah well

but yeah, I think drills in pratice and putting emphasis on the mid-range will solve that problem ..
