Re: Double OT in Cleveland
Very tough loss for the Cavs. Croshere is not the player that he was playing like tonight. Any other night, he would not have been so clutch, but a good game overall, as the Pacers win 109-104. Can't say I'm not dissappointed with the shot selection and some of the offensive decisions that the Cavaliers made, but it is the start of a long season. Have to focus on the Heat tomorrow night.
I know that he made quite a few shots, but does anyone else think that Ilgauskas should move more towards the hoop instead of falling away all of the time? When he went to the basket, there was no answer for him. But then the fadeaway started coming in to play, and I feel like it got him out of his rhythm.
Traylor had a good game, other than a few missed passes. Overall I was impressed by the Cavs.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Double OT in Cleveland
Yeah, I watched it. Z tore it up but I expected that with Foster and Oneal out. Still a great game though. Tinsley looks very good. 15pts, 14 assists, 3 steals. Lebron hit big shot after big shot and so did McGinnis. Tractor Traylor played well as did Croshere and Pollard. And Artest is just the man, nothing else needs to be said about him. Pacers played without Oneal, Foster, Reggie Miller, and Anthony Johnson. Bender played well when he was in but he didnt get to play much since he's still hurt. Pacers win 109-104, great game.Comment

Re: Double OT in Cleveland
Terrible start for the Cavs. When you get a team into your house with that many injuries, you have to handle your business. Very tough loss.
Notes for Cavs fans:
-LeBron looked fantastic. He didn't force his offense, and he showed us 3 new post-up moves. His defensive positioning is much, much better...He's got the length and quicks to be a standout defender if he continues to work at it. Also, his perimeter shooting looks much better. Kid was as impressive as ever.
And was that 3 pointer big or what?
-Artest is one of the top 5 players in the league. Flat out.
-Where was last years tempo? 4 fast break points? They didn't run AT ALL. Maybe they slowed the pace to get Z more looks in the half-court...we'll see.
-Cavs need an inside defensive presence. When Z is really on, his defense tends to suffer a little. The Pacers had way WAY too many easy buckets underneath.
-I've been hoping Gooden could replace Boozer effectively...so far, not so good. Boozers hallmarks...Gritty inside play and a money 18 footer, were deperately needed. Gooden is a little taller, but he doesn't have Boozers strength and girth. We were murdered on the offensive glass, Drew doesn't have Boozer's ability to keep bodies off the boards. Also, if 'Bron found Boozer on the rotation, Booze was water from anywhere inside 18. Gooden clanked about 4 wide open looks. Looks like we will miss Carlos severly. Dammit.
-Z is the most skilled offensive bigman in the league not named Tim Duncan. Shaq has the size and quickness, but he doesn't have a tenth of Z's moves. If only Illgo was stronger and more aggressive defensively....
-McInnis' defense was horrible. Tinsley went wherever he wanted, whenever he wanted. He was drawing help, and giving his guys very easy looks. J-Mac made a few shots down the stretch, but overall, it was a sub-par game.
-Snow played big. Only 6 pts, but all on good, open looks. We need a couple guys who can sink a jumper.
-Traylor missed back-to-back weakside entry passes from LeBron, just like Boozer did for the first month of last season. It takes a while to get used to the missiles James delivers through traffic. Those two turnovers led to a 7-0 indy run that swung the momentum we were building at the time.
Overall, this loss is dissapointing. Boozer has left huge shoes to fill. Obviously, Gooden and McInnis won't play this poorly every night, but after the first game, I've got a few concerns. It should take about a month to see how this new sqad will jell, though.
LeBron still looks right on schedule for total league ownership within 2 seasons...add Mike Redd to this equation, and the future looks good. Losing Boozer stings.....Last edited by HMcCoy; 11-04-2004, 12:54 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment
