Basketball for some reason feels differn't when liking a favorite player and then he being traded. Do you guy's think I would be a sellout if I started to like the Magic just because Steve in on the Magic. Don't get me wrong I like McGrady a lot, Francis is just my favorite player, I also like Mobley too. What do you guys think.
Tell you what, you can have my spot on the magic bandwagon. Like you, I stuck w/ them through the bad times, but tmac is my favorite player and I wanna follow himin houston, so i am now a converted rockets fan. And its not like im leaving orl in their worst hour, that would be last season or the time in between penny/shaq and hill/tmac. This year orl looks good, and it was definately not an easy choice, but im riding w/ houston.

I always keep my love for the player, but I stick with the team. But if I have more fun watching the new team play, I'd watch the game that's more fun. I think it makes sense that you wouldn't feel this way with football and baseball, since more players are actively participating and also there is more player movement. But basketball is a star-powered league with marketing and each star is on the court doing things as the focus of the team for 40 minutes a night.

Haha...that's hilarious. You guys can trade team allegiences, so you can feel better about it. Mail each other some cards or something so you can be "card-carrying members" of the teams' fanclubs. I like it.

Its just I like Having a Favorite team. I'm still a Rockets fan, I just may slip to the Magic side because of Francis.

Re: What is your take on this?

I stay with the team regardless. I've watched Shaq, Penny and now TMac leave Orlando and the second they are gone, they don't matter anymore. As soon as Francis, Mobley and Dwight Howard became members of the Magic, they became 3 of my favorite players. I don't really care how well/poorly TMac does in Houtson, same way I felt with Penny in Phoenix and Shaq in LA, once they are off of my team, they're just another player on an opposing team.

The only players I will follow from team to team are guys who I followed a bit in college, I won't be fans of their NBA team, just curious as to how they do in the NBA.

I'm not gonna lie. I used to like a few teams back in the day until now. I used to pull for the Rockets when they had Clyde, Hakeem, The Jet and Mario Elie. I was younger though. I also liked the Knicks back when they had Ewing and Starks...Starks is one of my top 5 favorite players of my lifetime. I used to love it when Starks and Jordan used to match up. I liked the Suns too, because of Rex Chapman, Barkley, Kevin Johnson and Thunder Dan Majerle.

After that era, I pulled for the Sixers, and now Allen Iverson is my favorite player in the league. I loved it when the won that ONE game against the Lakers in 2001. I still pull for all of these teams a little bit, but now my favorite team is the Charlotte Bobcats without a doubt.

I just wanted to see some of your guys thoughts on this, thanks for your input. After some thought about what I said, I will indeed remain main a Rockets Fan and just pull for Francis on the east. I don't really don't want to start pulling for a completely differnet team now at this stage in my life. I will Be a Rocket for life now that I have had a deeper thought about what I said. So francis good luck and I will miss ya.

                                Lets Go Rockets!!!
