This is not a slam at all, I'm just wondering why there wouldn't be more attendance for the "return of the NBA".
ehh middle of the week i guess i dunno. i guess some are kinda standoffish cuz they dont trust the organization or maybe most of them left cuz the panthers suck now and dont want to be associated with any sports teams that dont win.

Damn people in NC piss me off.. lol

I mean, any other state, fans support their teams even when they're losing.. (see - Browns, Red Sox of old, etc.)

Not in North Carolina. When the team's going good, THEN the fans come out to watch.

From the Wizards telecast they said people were stuck in traffic. It fillup as the game went along...

I've been to the Charlotte Arena many times and they do a great job of traffic before and after a game. I would be surprised if it was the traffic. I do miss that part of going to see games there. That and my Knicks never won there!

Yeah you're exactly right. That's why I got so upset about all of the "Panther FANS" that came out last year. When the Bobcats get good, THEN people will come and watch. Either when they start winning, or when they get a marquee player other than Okafor.

no it was definately close to a sellout. i was their and most of the seats were filled but most of the fans got their about 10 minutes late. and my dad was telling me at the first hornets game it was close to a sell out. then the 2nd game was even closer. and then they sold out for the next 9 years. now this prbably wont happen but dont give up on the charlotte fans yet. i think they will be right in the middle of the pack this year in attendence.

Being that North Carolina is more of a basketball state than a football state, I think the attendance might actually be decent. We'll have two honeymoons, this year, and then next year when we get into the new Uptown arena. Bob Johnson is doing pretty good at getting the Charlotte community behind him, IMO.

I feel you about the Panther fans, though. Now that we're 1-7, I know people have jumped off the bandwagon as quickly as they jumped on. Ridiculous.

I'll never forget going to the Panthers-Partriots game that was pushed back because of 9/11. It had snowed 2 days before and there wasn't anyone there but Patriots fans, maybe 20k total in attendance. I was able to get club seats for $5 each so that the women could go inside when they got too cold. I had fun, but I bet those home games in Dec. have very poor ACTUAL attendance.
