To be fair I posted that before the commentators said it wasn't for tripping.

The motion the referee made was signaling a kick. I didn't know what Webber and Marv were talking about. Just seemed like a reach for something to me.

Easy to be on fire when you're playing the softest team in the league.

You hearing anything about this in Chicago, King:

The Chicago Bulls were hopeful that they would be battling with the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors for a Top 4 seed in the Eastern Conference early in the season. Now, the Bulls sit at .500 and are fighting to stay in the playoff race and head coach Fred Hoiberg is reported to be in danger of losing his job.

That’s according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, who wrote on Friday that Chicago’s performance as of late — they’re 6-9 in December — has the team rethinking the coaching position.
                Via ESPN:

The latest chatter on the coaching grapevine, meanwhile, tells us that the toastiest seat on the NBA map at present belongs, rightly or wrongly, to the Chicago Bulls’ Fred Hoiberg.

The Bulls’ largely disappointing play in December, on the heels of a non-playoff season, has put Hoiberg under earlier-than-expected pressure, according to league sources.

But it’s not just Hoiberg that’s under increased scrutiny. GM Gar Forman and VP of Basketball Operations John Paxson have delivered a team with very little spacing or offensive chemistry, even on paper. Hoiberg, a noted offensive specialist, hasn’t had much to work with and that’s due to decisions made by the Chicago front office.

Still, we see teams get antsy when it comes to slides like this, and when you can’t fire players the easiest thing to do is look at who you can hand a pink slip to.

ESPN reports that one of the biggest obstacles for the Bulls removing Hoiberg is his contract, which has guaranteed money left on his 5-year deal worth around $25 million.

As has been the case in the past with owner Jerry Krause, money may be the deciding factor and at the moment, that might save Hoiberg enough for the front office to help the roster or shift more of the blame if the Bulls continue to disappoint expectations.

                  Smh

Hire a young coach, give him a team that is destined to underachieve, and then bail on him in his second year?

Unbelievable. Some teams need to just gut it out and stick with their coach. They might be surprised by what comes out of it. Look at Stotts last year in Portland. Look at Clifford in Charlotte, Snyder in Utah, Casey in Toronto, Stevens in Boston, even Malone in Denver is getting something good rolling. Sometimes sticking with your coach and letting them get a system down for players that WORK for that system leads to success, not bringing in a bunch of veterans that simply don't mesh together.

Literally just read this before coming here to see if you guys had talked about it already.

I'm so fed up with Jerry Reinsdorf. He is loyal to a fault. I wish you could fire an owner because he's the problem here. I don't want to hear about Fred Hoiberg being on a hot seat and not a peep about these two idiots Forman and Paxson. Paxson especially has to go. This dude has been here since 2003 running this team and has absolutely nothing to show for it but being gifted Derrick Rose and beating the Shaq Miami Heat on ring night and then sweeping them in the first round when their team was banged up. But as usual they're already scapegoating the coach that THEY hand picked before Thibs was even out the door to save their own asses. How many coaches does this dude have to burn through before Jerry wakes his old *** up?

I've been saying all this month that the Bulls are probably looking to rid of Hoiberg and Hoiball. It didn't work last year and its not working now. Plus the players don't even seem to respect him like that. Rondo's blow up on a assistant...Wade pretty much controlling the huddle during TO's. How often do we ever see a player engaging with Hoiberg during the game?

But.....that 25 mil contract basically gives him enough time to run the ship completely into the ground. Bulls are way to cheap to find a replacement and pay Hoiberg at the same time. He's got another year before a pink slip.

I agree with everyone else here, GarPax and Krause need to go bye bye. I'm so sick of banking the team on draft picks that we either trade or they don't pan out. Tyrus Thomas, Marcus Fizer, Elton Brand, Tyson Chandler, JWill*, Eddie Curry, Rose...the list really does go on. The best college picks we've had since Jordan left are Taj Gibson and Kirk Hinrich (Hinrich only because he probably has the longest tenure as a Bull next to Taj) and that.is.it. The league is full of former Bulls picks that play better on another team or disappear off the face of the earth.

Asterisk on JWill....unfortunate stuff but that seems to be our luck building on the draft.

You forgot Jimmy in the best college picks and Krause is long gone from the Bulls. Other than that agree on everything.

Sounds like things are working out well between Rondo and Chicago.

Reporter: "Were you surprised you didn't play in the second half?"

                          Rondo: "No."

                          Reporter: "Why not?"

                          Rondo: "My intuition."
