I don't think he's operating with that mindset. He tried to get Durant and he was active at the deadline. Stuff just didn't play out ideally.

To answer your question as to why nothing was done in the offseason to improve their flaws. I think to comes to what not wanting to invest in the current roster. No less than 6 guys will be off the roster after the season so why invest the cap space on the 2016-17 version of the Celtics?
Exactly. and of the two PG13 was probably the more available one but that one felt kinda mild. He also carries more risk given the LA rumors.

so basically we are knocking Ainge for not going hard after Ibaka whose just as bad as rebounding as Horford and Noel?

2017 Eastern Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread

        Pg was rumored being available.

The Boston Celtics didn’t give in to the Indiana Pacers’ demands, and it’s easy to see why. The Celtics reportedly were among the teams that pursued Pacers swingman Paul George leading up to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. Boston’s effort fell flat, though, and perhaps it’s because Indiana had an extremely high asking price in trade […]

I'm ok with that deal not being made. I'm not sure butler was on the table. I'm sure bulls were contacted but I don't think it got close.

That was just as a long shot as anything else.... but there was not really anything else after that.

Al kinda landed in his lap when Atlanta decided to give Dwight the max

Props to you for watching all 48 mins of each game so far though.
Pack, you (of all people) gonna take my tongue in cheek comment about the refs that seriously? lol

I actually have watched a good amount of games so far, and have been pleasantly surprised with the refs approach (and the fact that it's been "pretty" consistent across them). We were talking specifically about swallowing the whistle on the ticky tack plays, and they all seem to be doing that. I hope it continues. I hear you on the squeaky wheel getting the oil, but considering the vets that Milsap and D12 are, they'd probably be better off just muscling up more. I think there's a better chance of seeing that.

Marcus Smart fined $25,000 for flipping a fan the bird last night.

At first I thought this said flopping a fan, still would've checked out.

All stars don't get fined for that. This has been established already
