Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
-Hornets won season after Paul left(had 3rd highest odds)
-Bulls(9th highest odds) winning lottery in which Chicago born Derrick Rose was the top pick
-Raptors(5th highest odds) win lottery season after VC left
-Bulls(3rd highest odds) win lottery season after MJ retired for second time
-The infamous bent envelope draft with Knicks(3rd highest odds)
We've now had 4 straight years of the highest odds to win the draft actually won it(in NBA history, there had never been streak longer than 2 seasons before this one began). This after people crying conspiracy like crazy with Cavs crazy run of top picks right after Lebron left(and the Paul one as I mentioned too).
Not saying I fully believe it, but it's fun to discuss.

Though people will probably still find conspiracies from that(weighted balls, pre-recorded video ect.)Comment

Executives from each team watch the ping pong balls get selected before the actual showing they just can't say anything until the fan show ends.Comment

Suns get the shaft again, i should be used to it.
At least we will get a good player no matter what. Hopefully Jackson is there but I'll be happy with Fox too

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
That move will also give them the 28th pick, from Houston.
2 and 28, not too shabby. But again, let's see if they keep them or whatever.
"Pelinka said it is unlikely that the Lakers will trade the pick, but they will entertain trade overtures."
Finally free from the sequestering room where he waited for the NBA’s draft lottery show to end, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka weaved through the throng of people exiting a hotel ballroom.
The article also talks about the execs watching the ping pong balls fall to see who was picking where.Last edited by Boltman; 05-17-2017, 05:28 AM.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
If Lonzo is the pick, they need DeAngelo anyways IMO. Lonzo needs to be paired with a ball-handler/creator to thrive. I think he'll struggle if he's the primary ball-handler.
Chad Ford saying there's a chance LA takes DeAaron Fox instead; says they've become enamored with him ever since he dominated Lonzo head-to-head. If LA passes on Lonzo after all this, Lavar's head might explode.

Don't fully disregard the Front Offices of the respective teams, that's why they are the "winningest" franchises and people are paid to orchestrate trades that bring such success.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
It kind of reminds me of those absurd billboards that the Lakers put up to try to keep Howard. I was glad they did it though, because it was probably the the final nail in the coffin that would ensure that he left. Hayward may be a different kind of guy though, so it may be helpful.Jordan Mychal Lemos
