Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
He isn't He's just v good. Elite passer though. I'm fine with long athletic defenders that can switch everything. duh you don't construct a roster to have someone better than Lebron because that guy doesn't exist.
when you watch the C's/Cavs last year were you really going yanno if they just have some rebounding help that would've really put them over the top?!? no it's to have secondary scorer off IT2 so teams can't just blitz him every chance they get whose also really good on the other end as well.
Building a better balanced team than Cleveland should be the objective, not a roster mostly comprised of PG's, SG's, SF's and devoid of any up front talent other than Horford.
They've gain Hayward, lost all their frontcourt talent (minus Horford & Zeller) and I'm supposed believe they are in a better spot to topple Cleveland?
They were in play for Cousins, Butler, George, Noel (not a top tier talent but tons of potential), Griffin (I assume), yet came away with only Hayward (who plays a position their loaded at) and no other star player.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I saw a team playing two frontcourt players under 7' getting mauled in the paint. Gotta a bunch smallish players that can switch everything works, but only if one of those "smaliish" players is LeBron or Draymond Green.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I never said it was the main factor. I just said certain markets are at a disadvantage and it'd be nice if we had more parity then people came at me left and right lol. If we can all agree things aren't equal but small markets can still get players under the right circumstances then I'm good.

You mentioned this earlier:
Indy for example built their ECF teams with great draft picks and signing West/trading for Hill then lost Lance(who was a quality player at the time) because they didn't want to pay him more and go into the tax. They offered him all they could that kept them within the cap.
So they didn't want to go into the luxury tax to pay him or they were up against the Hard Cap and literally could not spend anymore money?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I knew someone was going to throw some "old man yelling at the cloud" meme.
As for this Gasol to Boston news. I don't get it. How does that allow Boston to remain flexible and positionless? I say it doesn't happen. I don't see Ainge's interest in Gasol. Defeats what he's trying to do.
Boston is going to want to focus on mobile bigs that can switch on D and handle the rock.
Semi Ojeleye is listed by Draft Express as a "physically gifted power forward who can handle the ball in the open floor, make spot-up or off the dribble 3-pointers."
Ante Zizic has the following:
- fits the profile of a modern day center, both in terms of his size as well as the role he looks capable of playing
- incredibly physical, runs the court with reckless abandon, and is constantly crashing the glass on both ends to come up with loose balls
- length and mobility offers some hope that he can continue to improve his versatility in this area, particularly when it comes to stepping outside of the paint and guarding quicker big men"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
What's there to not understand? Small market teams are at a disadvantage. It's been proven time and time again. Just because the league is doing well doesn't mean it can't be better. You think fans are going to stop tuning in if the NBA had more parity? As annoying as this conversation is every year it's more annoying seeing a team like Utah build their team up the right way only for it to be gone a month later and see the Celtics and their 75,000 championships become contenders again because of it.

Let a few people here tell it, you would've thought the Celtics gave up prime Shaq for signing Hayward, lol

We still have Guerschon Yabusele, as well, although he may have to be stashed again depending on how salaries end up shaking out.
Of all of them, I think Zizic will make the biggest difference on the court this year. He looked like a bully down low in his first Summer League game, posting 9 points, 5 boards and a block in 19 minutes.... and speaking of Summer League, Boston and Utah play tomorrow night. That should be a fun gameMy 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
