Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Not sure how they are going to play "Spurs defense" with poor defenders like Gasol, Mills, Parker, Joffrey & Gay in the regular rotation and no one of quality protecting the paint. I foresee a huge drop off defensively...

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
So now Bill Simmons is saying the Knicks and Thunder are "officially circling each other" about Carmelo. Yeah I ain't buying that. First of all, what credibility does Simmons have breaking these kind of stories? Second, what do the Thunder have left to trade to get this done that the Knicks could possibly want?

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
What? Lol that's what you took from that? He's not really being held hostage anyways. He was a Cav regardless of LeBron coming back or not. The only thing LeBron has brought back to the franchise and Kyrie is for chances to win a championship. Sure it changes the landscape of things going forward, because they are definitely going to be in win now mode for however long LeBron can still be LeBron. There isn't a reason they shouldn't be. But I don't blame Kyrie at all for wanting some sort of stability if what RJ said is true. But he's definitely not being "held hostage".. whatever that is even supposed to mean.

He means all decisions about Kyrie and the Cleveland Cavaliers being decided upon based on the whims of LeBron James. I get where he's coming from, but Kyrie has to understand that as good as he is, he's not LeBron James. LeBron is going to get the kind of treatment he does because he's the best player on the planet right now and if he's on your team, you have to do everything in your power to keep him there.
But y'all have to stop glossing over this stuff that's been said about life with LeBron for years now. While Kyrie gets a lot of leeway in what he does on the court, he and Kevin Love have still had to alter their games to fit LeBron's needs just as Chris Bosh had to do in Miami and clearly Kyrie feels like it's still not enough freedom in the system. LeBron never makes any attempt to alter his style in a way that might give his guys a boost on the court but rather sticks to what he's been doing his whole career. He's seeing every decision about the Cavs being made to appease LeBron. Overpaying Tristian even if that wasn't necessarily the right move for the team. JR. Kevin Love basically being expendable and ready to be thrown out the door if it meant bringing in a new guy that would appease LeBron.
I get it from his perspective. When you were THE guy on the team and were looked at as the person that was going to bring the franchise back to the playoffs and maybe even finally be the one to deliver that championship, you were finally going to get that really good wingman to be your Robin in Wiggins and then it all goes out the window because LeBron decided to come back. I can understand the ego hit you take there and I can see how he probably rolled with it, happy to get to work and be a successful duo with the best player in the world and then once you're actually in it and see how things play out and it isn't going exactly how you pictured it might, I can see how we get to this point. Right or wrong on Kyrie's part.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The LA chatter (Empty rumor or not, it would all end with one LeBron denial), the never ending 1 year contracts, the subtweets, the passive aggressiveness, the trade rumors (involving him and Love), just the never ending drama. When LeBron is involved it's always SOMETHING.
I totally understand if Kyrie is just sick of the LeBron circus despite the trips to the Finals. Maybe he just wants some workplace stability.NFL - Vikings

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Honestly I hope he can grow his game once he's gone...especially leaving on a mission to be "The Man"
because if hes not a fan of outside noise now, being that player chucking to your hearts content on a losing squad isnt going to be much quieter...
Im a fan of his so I really want to see him grow his game..

Kyrie is looking out for Kyrie's future, plain and simple. And I don't blame him either. He's controlling his just like Lebron controls his.
He got his ring and his gold medal so everything for him going forward is just gravy at this point.#RespectTheCultureComment

Kyrie is very much unlike Bosh or Love. He hasn't had to alter his game at all, arguably having LeBron and Love has made his same style of play even easier because he has more room to operate. He averaged a career high in points, shots, and usage this season. He took more shots than LeBron, had a longer average time of possession than LeBron, more average seconds per touch, average dribbles per touch, there is nothing about playing with LeBron that has hindered his ability to do what he does.
How has LeBron not been able to alter his style? Becoming the on ball screener and post player in Miami when they had zero post scoring wasn't altering his game? He was basically a point guard before that. Now he's back in Cleveland, looks like he's lost a good 20 or more pounds even though we'll never know his real weight, he runs more, leaks out to play advantage to Love's passing abilities, he literally stands and watches Kyrie any time Kyrie wants his own look. I mean LeBron isn't going to completely change his game, I'd like to see how anyone could make a decent argument that he should, but he's had no problem making small adjustments along the way. He's arguably changed his game more than Kyrie, who is still the same exact player he was seasons ago.Last edited by ojandpizza; 07-25-2017, 08:56 AM.Comment

OJ give superman his cape back and go sit down somewhere man. Nobody in here is talking about nothing Screamin A has to say. Of course you don't have LeBron's coaches and teammates on tape no where saying anything about this LeBron stuff the same way he never says anything but always dropping his cryptic/subliminal tweets so you can't flat out point a finger at nothing he does. None of Michael Jordan's coaches or teammates came out in the media with their names attached to anything about him either but we all got no problem accepting the fact that he was an ******* whenever it's brought up now do we? Woj, David Aldridge, credible people have documented this stuff with players, coaches, team staff, other league executives etc over the years so nobody gives a rats *** about whatever crap Screamin A is spewing that you're trying to spin it all into.
