      Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

      Stephen A. Smith claps back.

1.) A clarification: Stephen A. was not saying that LeBron WOULD whoop Kyrie’s *** if they met in person. Merely that he’d be “tempted” to.

2.) An accusation that LeBron will not sit down for interviews with him, but will talk to people, including ESPN colleagues, who make him feel more “comfortable”.

3.) Stephen A.’s belief that LeBron’s refusal to engage with him stems from when he crushed LeBron for “stinking up the joint” in the 2011 Finals against the Mavs.

4.) He says he talked to 30 sources this weekend about Kyrie and LeBron.

5.) “What if I got into the REAL story about what happened with LeBron James against Boston the Spring BEFORE he decided to leave Cleveland and take his talents to South Beach? But we don’t want to get into that!”

          2017 Offseason Thread

If the Nets are chasing tier 1 FAs in 2019 then I could see them tempting Towns, who is already one of the best big men in the league and who knows how good he's gonna be in 2 years.

That's a real stretch because the T Wolves could be contenders by that point with the best teams in the West ageing (Curry and Durant will both be 30+ by then) but if the Wolves falter and Towns wants to be closer to home, who knows.

Anything to distract me from the fact that Cavs are falling apart again and will probably have Anthony Bennett, Thompson and Tavares as a front court in 2019.

Screamin A ain't learned **** man. Understand your job and stop threatening the people you're supposed to be professional around.

Forget McGregor/Mayweather, I'll gladly pay for KD/Lebron vs Smith.

Sean Marks has been kicking *** with what little assets he started with.

Who becomes the 6th man, Lin or Crabbe?

We currently have $3.7 Mil in cap space, which could jump to $5.3 if we release Archie Goodwin.

Can't believe we got my man for $6 Mil LESS than we initially offered him a year ago.

Yeah, I didn't mean that as a diss or anything. I think the Nets are on the right track; you guys just dug a Grand-Canyon-sized hole to dig out of. Marks is making some savvy moves though.

to "end his career" just like he did to Durant.

Random question: Does anyone believe this will be the Knicks FO to turn it around?

I ask cause the Nets look like the found the right guy in Marks and have made really good moves, great if you factor in their lack of assets when he started(thanks Billy). The Knicks, if they have the right guy are starting from a better position given they already have Porzingis and will have their 1st round pick the next few years. The biggest thing now is trading Melo for some tangible assets and riding out that dumb THJ contract smh.

I like the hire, but it is scary that the guy who gave out the THJ, and the Ron Baker contract is now the president.

                                Wait and see.
