    Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

Is any team going to give Wade another contract after the upcoming season?

    He'll be 36 in January of 2018.

Still no news on when/if Nerloens Noel will re-sign with the Mavs, if he become a RFA at the end of last season he would have been getting near max offers.

Seems like Gasol is open to being traded from Grizzlies.

I wouldn't mind giving up Valanciunas in a deal for him. Wonder if Grizzlies might. Gasol would be gone in 2-3 years anyways and no point keeping him when they're not going anywhere. Why not deal him for another big man who is several years younger. Other pieces obviously would need to be added, but he'd be main one.

A 3 year window with Gasol - Ibaka up front and Lowry - DeRozan in back, and Lebron possibly gone from east next year. I'd go for it.

            This could be interesting....
Many people believe that Paul George will be taking his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers after the 2017-18 NBA season. But that might not be possible if the latest accusation against the storied franchise turns out to be true. The Lakers reportedly tried to trade for George when he was a member of the […]

This is incorrect. Tayshaun Prince, while he was an accurate part time bomber, was not one of the early 3&D guys. Scott Wedman was doing this job more than a decade before Prince stepped into the NBA. Michael Cooper did as well. Dan Majerle and Derrick McKey also came well before Prince.
Hell, Dave DeBusschere was playing lights out D and hitting 25 foot bombs in the early 70s.

Have we ever considered that maybe Dave DeBusschere didn't actually die, and HE is AlexBrady?

Slightly off topic: What is the opinion of Peter Vecsey on here? I know there is a love/hate relationship in NBA circles since he takes so many shots at people (some hilarious).

I'm just curious what it is on here since his major news breaking days were before social media was really popular.

Lol. AB is great but he never misses an opportunity to mention Debucherre.

I'm convinced at this point that he does it on purpose.

I doubt anything comes from this but I also don't think our overly conservative owner/management would file charges unless they had proof.

You remember that scene in Pootie Tang where Chris Rock was complaining how hot it was? "Man, its hot. It is hot today. I can't believe it is this hot".

I can see AB being in that scene like "Yes, it is insanely uncomfortable outside today. However, you should've seen how Dave DeBusschere made defenders uncomfortable with his excellent left jab step and his brilliant screen setting and hip checks in the 1970 Finals against the Lakers".
