Cant see D Wade providing any significant boost to a contending team at this stage of his career.

Agreed. He would be going into a situation where he is a 3rd or 4th option. Usually as a 3rd or 4th options, main looks are going to be 3 pointers or around the basket. He is more of a shot creator and requires ISO.
OKC is not a fit at all. Too many alphas already.

Nah, that distinction belongs to the early 2000's. When the Nets were dominating the conference. They had Ray Allen's Bucks, Vince's Raptors, AI's Sixers, McGrady's Magic, Baron Davis' Hornets, Pierce's Celtics, etc. Those teams were hot garbage though cause all the actual title contenders were in the West. Shaq/Kobe Lakers, Duncan/Robinson Spurs, Webber/Bibby Kings, Wallace/Pippen Blazers.

I personally have no interest in a Wade return to the Heat, but Spo has an unhealthy amount of loyalty to him so nothing would shock me.

If he is willing to play hard for 15-25 minutes a night, he's a smart enough player to help any team. I'm just afraid if he comes back he and his Heat disciples will expect it to be "Wade County" again.

Go to Cleveland D! We'll have a statue waiting for you when you retire.
                Good job! Good effort!

It really depends on how a team decides to use him. I think he'd be good carrying a second unit, but he's a pretty terrible fit in any of the contenders' starting lineups. For example, the idea of him and Rose both starting for the Cavs until Isaiah gets healthy is just horrible. That lineup would have zero spacing or defense.

Plus, there's no way that the Lakers don't get absolutely annihilated by the stacked teams in the West this year... not that this wasn't the case before the Melo trade but just thought I would reiterate that fact. The Memphis pick in 2019 is looking better and better, as well. #InDannyWeTrust

Wade wants to start wherever he goes. So he's not gunna accept a 6th man role, or 15-20 minutes per game.

Yeah, I suspect that that's true, in which case I would agree that he won't really help a team. I already saw that he's been assured of a starting spot in Cleveland.

A sneaky storyline from the Carmelo trade is his status as one of 4 players to average 20 points per game every season of his career (the others being Michael Jordan, LeBron, and Durant).

If we assume Melo is the 3rd option behind Westbrook (duh) and Paul George (MAYBE not a given, but probably), then he'll have a hard time hitting 20+. Having 3 guys on the same team average 20+ has only been done 3 times since 1990 I believe, and all 3 were done by the Warriors.
