Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Phil already met with and looking at this 7 foot 3 dude
He can shoot really well, quick feet, versatile on the perimeter.. average rebounder and needs to get stronger for the inside.

There's only one unicorn man.
1. Phil is trolling the hell out of everybody and playing the same damn mind games he was playing with Kobe and Shaq. He needs to be drug tested.
2. Shame on Woj. He's better than this.Comment

Last year it was Dragan Bender who was supposed to be the next Porzingis.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
He didn't seem interested in certain things which is why Byron Scott used to be on his behind, like coming to practice on time or showing any real interest in getting better when they asked him to do things.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
No he's not lol. Booker literally does nothing but score and he's not even substantially better at that than Porzingis; in the very least, he's less efficient.
Booker isn't a very good player yet. Porzingis isn't yet either, but his skillset is so rare that in terms of trade value, it's not close.
But like cima said, and it's not just about the 70 point game, but he really had his break out moment towards the end of last season. He handles the ball well, he can pass well, can get his own shot, obviously is a deadly catch and shoot threat. He ended the last two months of last season averaging 26, 4.5, and 4.5. I think efficiency wise his shooting numbers are only going to go up as he gets more comfortable with the bigger work load or more guys to draw attention from him on his team. He may not ever hit that 50/40/90 group but I think he'll end up flirting with it when he gets closer to his prime years. Somewhat like Klay Thompson does.
His numbers this season are Klay, CJ, Beal level numbers. And the intriguing thing is he's still only 20, even younger than KP. I think what I like about his game, comparable to someone like CJ, is that he can do everything your lead guard is supposed to be able to do as well as your shooting guard. He could very well be a couple years away from being a Brandon Roy level guy, he's got that type of size and the skills to reach those levels.
It's not anything against KP, I jumped that bandwagon the second I saw him play as a rookie. He just hasn't shown that he's capable of "breaking out" yet the way Booker has. He's got loads of potential, but even by today's stretch big standards only hits his outside shots at a fairly average rate, doesn't give much defensively aside from his length getting him a few blocks, doesn't rebound well for a guy who's 7'3, long, and mobile. But he's got all the potential to be a Dirk-like dominant scoring threat with better defense. I'm still just waiting to see him show something more than "potential". He gives you flashes, but we got a borderline elite two months of consistency from Booker last season.Last edited by ojandpizza; 06-20-2017, 05:23 PM.Comment
