Henderson is much smarter than Fortson is pressure situations and he isn't a hack machine like Fortson so he'd stay on the floor longer. So, I disgree I believe Fortson and Henderson are equal. Fortson just gets more minutes in Seattle which should tell you something because in Dallas he couldn't give Dirk a 5 minute breather let alone get on the court last year. Already this year Dirk gets breathers because Nellie uses Henderson more than he used Fortson last year.
You're crazy to think Henderson is equal to Fortson

    Henderson: 3.6 pts, 4.5 rbs, 49% fg, 59% ft in 15.6 mins
    Fortson: 8.5 pts, 6.0 rbs, 55% fg, 87% ft in 17.7 mins

No one in their right mind would take Henderson over Fortson. Fortson kills him in nearly all comparable stats and plays ONLY two more mins a game on average.

And the reason Fortson couldn't give Nowitzki a breather last year was because the Mavs had Antoine Walker and Antawn Jamison in front of him. This year they have no one so they are forced to use Henderson by default.

They obviously feature Jerry Stackhouse a decent player who knows how to score. He shoots 42% and 25% from 3pt while scoring 16 points a game and handing out 2 assists a game. This is in 31 minutes a game.

The Sonics feature two players, the one most comparable to Stackhouse is Daniels considering he plays 27 minutes a game. He shoots 45% and 33% from 3pt while scoring 12 points a game and dishes out 4.5 assists a game. He plays better defense than Stackhouse and takes care of the ball. He is often at two guard when playing with Ridnour.

Radmanovic is a sharp shooter who drains threes at a 41% clip. He averages 13 points and 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. Probably the best shooter on possibly the best shooting team in the league.

Fortson is a better player than Alan Henderson and always will be, he's actually averaged a double double for an entire season. Henderson's rebounding career high is 6.9, Fortson's is 12. Fortson didn't play last year because he is a little crazy and didn't fit in with that team. To get minutes the coach has to put you out there. He shoots 55% from the field and gets to the line 5 times a game, and he knocks them down at a 87% clip. Compared to Henderson's 1 and 60% free throw shooting.

Vlade and Daniels could both win the 6th man award, Stackhouse has a case as well.

I like the Maverick's bench, but it's not even really "arguably" better than the Sonics and I don't think I need to waste anymore words on the topic.

I'll be surprised if the Mavericks win tomorrow but the Sonics have been through alot lately.

Thats your opinion on the matter I see it different. Fortson didn't play last year because he was a foul machine and Dallas felt like Eddie Najera gave them more energy and hustle. Henderson is an excellent role player with Dallas giving Nellie options at backup Center and Power Foward. To compare him to Fortson's scoring this year is stupid because quite obviuos Dallas doesn't need Henderson to shoot because of Dirk, Stack, Finley, Hopward, Daniels, Terry and Dampier on most nights get all the shots. What Henderson does doesn't show up in stat books. He makes hustle plays like tips, deflections, and getting on the floor for loose balls something Fortson doesn't do. He also has a very high basketball IQ something Fortson never has and never will have in his career. If you want to say Fortson has averaged double figures rebounding in a season thats fine and I'll say Henderson has been more productive in his scoring than Fortson 4 times in a season averaging double figures for the year.

Points per game off the bench doesn't prove that a teams bench is deeper is better overall than another teams bench. Those are stats anyone can rack up stats especially in garbage time. A guy like Stackhouse is likely to carry a team during long stretches of a game rather than Radmonavich or Daniels for Seattle. Stackhouse is by far the best player because he is the only one on either bench who can take over a game for 4 qtr's. I'm not even going to get to Marquise Daniels because anyone who follows basketball should know that this kid is big time when healthy. He might actually be the second best player overall for either team and he commands 30+ minutes of work but Dallas has so many options at the swing posistions and Daniels ankle injuries have limited him this year. In a playoff series my trust is going with Stackhouse, Daniels and Henderson to come up big over Fortson, Daniels and Radmonovich. The difference is Dallas has two impact players coming off their bench Stack and Marquise the Sonics have role players who all play their role very good but they aren't impact players like Stack or Marquise.

By the way don't let Marquise Daniels 9.1 scoring average fool you with your stats up at the top. This guy would be in the mid 14-16 point range off the bench if he could stay healthy. Thats the only reason why your stats show the Sonics bench average more points. Dallas actually runs plays through Daniels and he's capable of matching Stackhouse #'s when on the floor getting minutes which he will right after the All-Star break. Don't even want to mention Darrell Armstrong's defense for Dallas.

They have a nice bench. On the Henderson point, Collison is probably the most comparable and he is just as good as Henderson right now..and he does the "little" things.

If you give Ronald Murray 35 minutes a night, he puts up 20 points a game. He just did it with Allen out, and he did for a 20 game stretch last season.

Radmanovic and Daniels both play in the 4th quarter and are probably more effective players than Stackhouse right now anyways.

The Sonic's bench is deeper and fit together with the starters perfectly, that is the only reason why they have a better record than the Mavericks.

The Maverick's bench is good, and they have talent....it's just not on the same level as the Sonic's bench right now.

Re: The Seattle SuperSonics are the best team in the league?

Ok this will be settled in the playoffs. But i must say this you obviously haven't followed Stackhouse this year. To say that either Daniels or Radmonavich is better is insane. Stackhouse has been as good as ever this year coming back from his injuries from a year ago. He is scoring machine and the Sonics don't have a guy who can get to the FT Line at the rate Stackhouse does. THis guy is still an impact player and your telling me he's average. He's putting up the same #'s A.Jamison did for Dallas a year ago plus rebounding 4.4 and assist 2.8 per game off the bench.

Seattle goes 10 deep the Mavs play all 12 players on any given night. Check it out you'll see all 12 active players have played 30 games or more where as the Sonics don't play Swift nor Potapenka. Add up the rebounds, assist and steals by each teams bench and you'll see Dallas has a slight edge. Don't believe check it out and NBA.Com.

Stackhouse can score, that's nice. He is a decent scorer, Daniels and Radman both bring more talents to the table with ability to stretch the defense and play defense. There is more to the game than scoring. And putting up 3 points more than Radman and Daniels.....I don't think should give him the label of "scoring machine."

Daniels and Fortson both get to the line almost 5 times a game, and Stackhouse gets to the line a little over 5 times a game.

Should be a good game tonight.

Sorry Sonics fans but Dallas is not SacTown or Phoenix the Mavs actually defend this year and still score points. The Sonics got off to that blazing start at the beggining of the year but don't look now because the Mavs are breathing down your necks. In the end like I've said all year San Anotnio and Dallas will eventually meet again for the West Finals. The Sonics, Suns and Kings will get the Pub but when it's all said and done big two in TEXAS will fight it out.
