Re: Vince Carter Not to Dunk Anymore

VC has stopped doing highlight reel dunks for about 3 years now. He's too comfortable with fadeaways. A new team won't change that. He hates contact and no one is more fragile in the league. In tonite's game he got a light shoulder to the head from the massive Larry Hughes and dropped like a rock and laid there for a couple of minutes like he had been shot. He had to go back to the dressing room probably to call his mom. The replay showed my 4 year old could give me a harder shot. In contrast Jameson caught a nasty elbow to the mouth, fell down, gathered his senses and got up in 10 seconds. Everytime VC gets jumpers knee he's out for 6 weeks.

Imagine if VC got traded to Minnesota, watching him flop around on the ground would give Garnett a coronary. Love to see Garnett bitch slap him and yell "Get up girly-man".

I love VC's game. Maybe I should say lovED. I liked him when he was the most hardcore, over the top, bad@ss dunker in the league. The dunk in the 2000 olympics over the 7'2 frenchman comes to mind. He needs to get back to being what he was then. He got too caught up in everyone making his game all about highlight reels and that he couldn't set and shoot and play "fundamental" basketball.. but somewhere along the line he lost the Vinsanity.

Charles Oakley was Vince's best friend. Although he wasnt friendly to him, he was just like us. He saw Vince had all of the talent, all of the tools, all of the opportunity to take it to the next level, and he had a voice to let him know. Vince played his best ball while Oak was his teammate.

Once he got traded, that's all she wrote. He never cared for working out, he never tried to do above what we all knew he could, just pretty much began taking lots of jumpers.. even his teammates pleaded with him to condition his body and work out.. and his response.... "I dont play those childish games" (speaking of players telling him what he should and shouldnt do)

There you have the results, a man that had it all, all of the opportunity in the world, all of the talent, all of the tools, even had the bald head and it was natural, not trying to copy you know who, the stage was prepared for him, and he turned it all down.

That's why most people are not hating, but are very very disappointed in Vince. People like that dont come around always. You wanted to cheer the guy on, but he didnt care to work to keep his game in order.

Well these last 2 games he's been playing well. Even threw down a windmill against the Knicks. Perhaps they told him he isn't going anywhere so cut the crap or maybe realized his poor play makes him harder to trade.
