Pretty funny siam007--so true. I think I've seen about 10+ posts from live fans saying stuff similar to that, lol. If you're buying a game because of shoes, maybe you would be happier with a pair of nikes than an Nba game.

Re: WTF is the deal with being able to pick shoes???
The "real world" reason that there are not actual shoes is simply: System memory. Unlike PCs (and no Im not saying they are better.... although I do love the occasional PC game), consoles have a low amount of system memory. Textures have to be stored in this memory. You could go for lesser quality textures to free space, but that would make the graphics look fuzzy or "out of focus." So you shoe fanatics (whats the -phobia word for someone obsessed with shoes) have to chose: Individual faces for the players, realistic body tones-skin color-, replica jerseys with matching logos etc., different hair styles, or numerous shoes........ hard choice LOL. Of all those, I would say shoes would be seen in the game the least. And if you spent the whole game looking at the shoes, you would get blown out anyway.
P.S. Or as a crazy XBOX fanboy said on another site: "its all the playstation 2's fault. Sega had to make the XBOX version look crappy so it would run on the PS2." I dont agree with that and it wasnt talking about shoes but I found it funny none the less. If not for Sony All games would be better "shoe" wise. Danggit. I was always pissed Crash Bandicoot was wearing those Addias. We all know he really wears Air JordansComment

Re: WTF is the deal with being able to pick shoes???
Just as how the guys value the changing hair styles and the sweat in the basketball game (all of which are debatable as to their importance). I value the look of a certain player as is to match his real life counterpart...if that means shoes or headbands then i want that. Surely no one wants to sacrifice gameplay and other more important things for shoes but i think if you attempt to recreate the nba and its players then proper lookin shoes and other apparel SHOULD be mandatory. Also the texture required for these accessories hardly compete for space on a cd or a consoles memory, al the compression technology they have these days, cmon. Again crappy shoes and great gameplay is no big injustice but great player accessories and great gameplay is that much better.Comment

Agreed, now if you'll just pony up the cash to pay Nike, Adidas, Fila, AND 1, Reebok, Black Knights, Zips, and Kanagroos to use their product designs and likenesses, along with money to pay Kobe, TMac, Jordan, the the 300 athletes that have their own shoe types, we'll have them all ready for downloadable content on XBOX Live.Unless, that is...you have a gamecube. LOL.

naw the design and colour is all thats needed ....no one sees the swoosh anyway. However from screenshots I've seen Live 2003 has made shoesand apparel that look similar to the real deal for certain players eg. Kobe and TMac without having to hunt for licenses and all that. I havent seen much Nba 2k3 footage though only a few vidsComment
