I'd honestly take Embiid over Cousins and no this isn't a hot take. When healthy they are both obviously tremendously gifted offensively, but defensively Embiid blows Boogie out of the water. I mean a motivated Boogie can defend, but what Embiid has done so far in the short time he has played on both ends of the court is damn impressive. I'd take Embiid, but it isn't like it's some huge gap between the two you know? Obviously you can't go wrong with either one on your team.

I think it's unfortunate that Boogie had to go down the way that he did, because Embiid is getting to show out on the stage that matters most and it's a little easier to be a prisoner of the moment. I agree that there is no huge gap between the two of them, but I'd take Boogie over him because I think a locked in, dominating Boogie is better and more dominate than locked in Joel. If he was still healthy and actually able to play in his first postseason I think we'd be marveling at Boogie right now.

          Damn y’all ****ing up.

I wasn’t serious about that post. It’s playoff time so I figure y’all would’ve know that was a playoff hot take after one game, lol.

Well it ain’t like Embiid isn’t up there in the discussion for best C lol. I’d take Boogie though right now for the same reasons King laid out.

It’s crazy how much different most peoples viewpoint is now that Dirk actually won a championship.

I understands rings play a part in your “legacy” or what have you, but a player who doesn’t win a ring isn’t worse at basketball than someone who does for that reason alone lol. It’s crazy how championships keep shifting further and further away from “the Lakers won the title” to “Magic won the title”.

                    Stop it man.

Dirk had to prove himself like everybody else.

He was running from post play and getting locked up by dudes 6'8 in the playoffs and kicking exercise bikes lol.

When he grew up he turned into a beast and smacked up lebron with no other star on his team.

                    He earned it.

Yeah, makes me wonder where Karl Malone would be on peoples list if he won a ring or two.

Granted, Dirk isn't anywhere near Malone's level even with that one ring.

Well Dirk also activated god mode to win that championship and beat a super team against one of the greatest player ever in the finals. It's not just him winning a ring it's how he did it.

It's not like Dirk won a ring as a second or third option playing his usual basketball. He elevated his game and dominated and got his ring. Some players as great as they are aren't able to do it so sometimes there is a difference between a great player without a ring and a great player who's won one.

Yeah, Dirk is one of the few guys where his ring massively changed his legacy and rightfully so. He was so ridiculous that series, so clutch, and I didn't know he had that in him. On the biggest stage, against the newly-formed Heatles. Man, that was a legendary series. The 2011 Finals are still the most entertaining of all time IMO and the ish didn't even go 7.

One title run can change an entire narrative...

His name was reaching mud status before that...he had some pretty epic failures before that historical run....

He was killing it that entire year, not just that series.
