Re the Cavs trade up talks: I believe the Hawks wanted a future unprotected 1st rounder. Which would have been lunacy.

I'm glad they didnt pull the trigger. Bron was not coming back anyway, no need to make that kind of move.

Doncic and Love would be fun, but I didn’t see anything about the first just that they would have to take back Bazemore.

My guess is that Memphis' asking price for Gasol will be higher than it should be at this point in his career. I don't really see Ainge paying up for him.

I just want my squad from last season back and fully healthy. Bring Smart back on the $6M option or whatever it is and let’s ride.

I would prefer a longer deal just to a) hopefully keep Smart happy and b) as insurance just in case the Kyrie potentially leaving rumors or true (not that I really think they are). Also, c) I don't want to see Smart playing hero ball hoping to boost his next contract.

Just lock him up so we can end the madness. At the very least, a nice $10-11/yr contract (similar to what Exum got) could be used on the trade market in the future.

Also, I'm not buying any of this S&T nonsense. Neither Memphis or Brooklyn have anything as the Celtics need. Nothing that's as valuable as Smart is to the Celtics anyway.

Yeah, would be annoying for a lot of people to have him behind a paywall though.

Even NBC he’d be a good fit for as well.

If Masai can somehow unload Lowry and/or Ibaka for Leonard even if it's just for one season i'd be happy.

Should have taken the contract extension offered months ago, which was more than what anyone else is going to pay on the open market. That’s what you get for hiring a guy named Happy Walters to represent you in free agency.

Lowry would be best case scenario. Raptors are one of few teams I could see who'd actually be ok getting Kawhi for 1 season, knowing he's not staying, assuming they are able to trade one of their longer contracts in the deal. Seems like asking price from other teams are young guys, who wouldn't be worth giving up to get a guy for just 1 year.

Kawhi going from the Spurs to Toronto would be like going from wearing Jordan Retros to wearing some ugly *** Team Jumpmans that has a Moose logo instead of the Jordan logo.
