I was really wishing OKC would've taken a flyer on IT; especially now that I know he got the vet min. This is a good, low risk/high reward move by the Nuggets.

Denver has agreed to send Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, a 2019 protected first-round pick and a future second round pick to Nets for Isaiah Whitehead, league sources tell ESPN. Salary dump for Denver.

This mine make some sense for me. Kenneth has needed out since Joker became a thing. I just don't know how this works for the Nets though.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">For Boston Celtics/Marcus Smart watchers:<br><br>After all of tonight's dealings only the Sacramento Kings, and possibly Chicago Bulls (if they renounce FAs), can clear enough cap space to sign Smart to an offer sheet of more than $4-5M in first year salary, which Boston would match.</p>&mdash; Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/KeithSmithNBA/status/1017629220044849152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 13, 2018</a></blockquote> ******** async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This is significant both for Boston and for Houston as now Capela doesn't have any team he can go to looking for the max so he's gonna have to either take the QO, or negotiate and compromise.

                          Per Bobby Marks

Clearing out the Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur contract saves Denver a combined $43M in salary and projected luxury tax. The Nuggets now have 14 players on guaranteed contracts and are now $8.7M below the luxury tax. Denver this offseason has saved a projected $90M in salary and tax by trading Faried, Arthur and recently Wilson Chandler in a previous trade to Philadelphia.
Smart moves from Denver tbh, Chandler had no future with the team and Faried and Arthur basically were out of the rotation as well.

Strictly about those draft picks man. Nets are doing exactly what a team in their position should be doing. Take on bad contracts to acquire assets like that draft pick. What the Bulls should have done before the draft.

The more important story here is Pack is free from his prison of having to pretend like he gives a **** about Jeremy Lin and can go back to ripping him all the time lol

I wonder how the nuggets lineup is gonna look this year.

I really can’t see IT coming off the bench with the ego he has, not to mention that he’s really too skilled of a player to be coming off the bench. People seem to forget that he was injured last season, and the season before that he was an MVP candidate and one of the top scorers in the league on the best team in the east.

Trying to stick Jamal Murray or Gary Harris on the wing with IT running the point would be absolutely awful for the Nuggets defensively. Don’t really see any other options besides a trade, because Harris, Murray and IT are all too good for the bench.

Ehhh they were never the best team in the east with him, but I get what you’re saying.

He’s in a tough spot because he’s looked terrible since the injury back in those playoffs, so he’s gotta prove that he can be that guy you’re talking about again before he can dictate stuff like whether or not he should be coming off the bench or not. Unfortunately for him, a full season and playoffs later and he hasn’t shown that just yet.
