Just because some guy shares the same agent doesn't mean he has some special pipeline and insight into what another guy thinks.

Also, let's not forget that everyone and their mother thought Paul George was LA bound this year but he chose to stay in OKC. I'm not saying it'll happen like that with Kawhi in Toronto but y'never know.

That being said i'd be crapping bricks if it means DeRozan is leaving town.

There was a report saying Raptors were looking at a DeRozan for Wiggins deal last offseason (doesn't mean straight swap).

If Masai could turn Lowry, DeRozan, 1st round pick and other guys into Kawhi and Butler (if Wolves are really gonna deal him), he'd be a genius.

Once again, I’ll save you guys the trouble, it ain’t happening. Toronto is going to take that same tired squad into the season thinking they have a chance because LeBron is out of the east and end up losing in the second round again. Conference finals loss at best. Don’t let Windbag set you up for this disappointment man. They ain’t getting Kawhi and they definitely ain’t getting Jimmy.

Agreed. Might be a quick rebuild move . flip Kawhi for assets later or try it for a year in the (W)ea(k)st . Could also trade Lowry for assets next year .

I think the idea of trading DeRozen for Kawhi is great for Toronto. I’ll wait and see what else is included but that team was ripe for a blowup anyways.

Best case scenario, Kawhi signs long term and you have your star. Worst case scenario, Kawhi leaves and you can properly rebuild. They were never going to win anything significant with DeRozen and Lowry as the top 2 guys anyways.

Bro, are the Raptors about to trade the only player that's ever wanted to play in Toronto for a dude who has no interest in being there? Wow, Cole world, no snuggie.

Side note, I think this is a part of the reason I love LeBron, the passive aggressive meme posting is exactly how I would react to stuff like this. Derozan needs to post the scene from Remember the Titans with Julius talking to Bertier.

Such a trash move for Toronto. Doesn’t make them significantly better, they lose DeRozan without taking back assets for their further. Shocked. Surely they will flip Kawhi at some point for something that more benefits them.

This is gonna do what, exactly, for Toronto? Guarantee them a conference finals where they’ll be beaten by Boston anyway? Even if they overcome them, Leonard is still surrounded by some serious chokers. Whoever comes out of the West, be it Golden State, Houston, LA, whoever. They’d sweep Toronto regardless of if they had Kawhi or DeRozan.

And it’s just a really ****ing ****ty move against DeMar. That dude is right there below Vince as being synonymous with the Raptors. Giving that up for a questionably healthy Kawhi who doesn’t want to be there is just insane.

There’s the chance that I’m hugely wrong about this and they enjoy such a great year that Kawhi stays after next season but if that’s what they’re putting all their money on, I direct them to the fact that the two best players in the game have both left their last team after a conference finals (KD) and a finals (LeBron).

I think this is a solid move for Toronto even if Kawhi leaves at the end of the year. If they can convince him to stay it's obviously a huge home run. If Kawhi returns from his injury at the same level he's played at in the past, it's a gigantic upgrade for the Raptors.

Toronto has reached agreement in principle to acquire San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard for package that includes DeMar DeRozan, league sources tell ESPN. Trade is larger on both sides, and players are still being informed of their inclusion in the deal. Trade call with league today.
