      Manu hangs 'em up.

Sad to see these dudes getting old and retiring. Just reminds me I'm getting old too, lol

Sad day. The tremendous run is officially over, but the memories and championships last forever.

I'll miss seeing my second favorite lefty hooping, but he's given everything to this organization and fanbase. He deserves to enjoy his family and friends at this point.

I think I'll have my Tony, Manu and Timmy jerseys framed now. Wished I could've gotten one signed too. Oh well....

Weird seeing the Spurs run being over, this seems more out of place to me than Kobe retiring. Spurs were basically my favorite franchise of the decade, I liked those Blazers, Kings, Pistons, LeBron teams too, but was always fine with any of them losing had it been to the hands of the Spurs. Was never a huge Parker fan, but Pop, Duncan, Manu, Kawhi are all among my favorite NBA people to ever play. Crazy to see the final piece be gone, it all went quick after Timmy.

Let this sink in. Patty Mills is now the longest tenured Spurs player.

Since they moved to San Antonio in the ABA in 73/74 the Spurs have been linked by 4 players
                George Gervin(73-85)
                Alvin Robertson(84-89)
                David Robinson(89-03)
                Manu Ginobili(02-18)

Manu Ginobli was one of the best sixth men in recent NBA history. A bundle of non-stop hustle and energy, he was always a threat to turn a game on its head. His first step towards the rim with the ball was quick and his last step was long and very tricky. He had so many release points on his shots that it reminded me of Bernard King. He had good spin moves. His perimeter jumper was very streaky and his defenders would look to give him the jumper.

Ginobli's passing was alert and accurate but he could get into trouble at times when he penetrated and tried to pass while still airborne. In man to man defense Ginobli wasn't very strong and was reduced to making risky gambles but he compensated by playing smart team defense.

A winner, clutch performer, and a true Hall of Famer. Thanks for the run Manu!

Another big name has hung up his sneakers for good, this time David West. How good was this big man in his prime?

Plenty good. He could post up on both boxes effectively and score with jump hooks and turnaround jumpers. He could launch his turnarounds over either shoulder and step out past 15 feet to drill jumpers. Many of his scoring ploys were set up by bumping and grinding actions but he could also use finesse and slickness. His passing was always on target and he was very willing to play inside out ball.

His rebounding work was below average but the worst aspect of his game was his defense. His lateral movement was too slow to contain serious face and go players and his baseline rotations were tardy or non-existent.

A highly respected player who had a fine career.

Houston has traded Ryan Anderson and De'Anthony Melton to Phoenix for Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight, league source tells ESPN.

Great trade for Houston. Unload that hefty Ryan Anderson contract, Knight has less time on his and Chriss is a really solid big, can stretch the floor and has impressive athleticism.
