I think I'm confused maybe, but I'm not sure

I have no idea what to buy.

Live doesn't sound appealing to me, then I'll read a post or two that makes it sound decent.'

Love what I've read about the rim physics of NBA2K3, but then the blown layup gripes and a few others have taken the steam out of my enthusiasm.

Then there's this Inside Drive game, which I admittedly didn't play last year.

What would I like? For parameters sake, I hated Live last year and didn't think much more of 2K2. I ended up sitting out the b-ball season last year. I really want to like a game, but I don't want a dunkfest or one that does a lot of little stupid things either.

e-rod im on the same boat as you...i have no idea which one to get. i settled for drive last yr, which was fun for a little while. I read things aboutlive and im like wow thats sounds good...then i read about freestyle makes it to easy, then others say learn to play d etc...and like you said 2k3 sounds good then people say missed layups...i dont know what to do. I want a good basektball game but not sure which one to get. How are the franchise modes between live and 2k3 also?

ERod, the missed layup thing is blown way out of proportion. You can't sit back and rely on the auto animation you have to actually make the shot. Anyway, Live sounds pretty good. The freestyle thing seems like a nice touch on O and D but it also seems more focused on offense. Seems EA and Sega took the same paths as with football .

I don't know squat about ID but I'm happy with 2k3.

I noticed I was missing a lot of easy shots and layups in my game last night but it was only with 1 guy. When I looked at him his energy was way down and he was classified as struggling. So I took him out of the game and didn't have a problem after that.

missed your post before, dookie. Franchise mode for 2k3 is amazing. Read the review on the main page from gamespot, they have details. I didn't read much about the franchise mode for Live in the reviews that i've read. I haven't tried any franchise games.
