I agree, the East, may not have as many big name stars as the West does, but the East is getting better. All those teams you mentioned are better than last yr.

I think if Boston gets rolling and Kyrie gets back to who he was before being injured last season, and Hayward is able to get back close to what he was before his injury, I think Boston, could put a scare in the Warriors anyway, like Houston did last season.

If Toronto plays this way, come playoffs, they will be a very dangerous team. The Bucks are much improved, and have looked really good.

Philly and the Pacers are up and down right now, some nights they look great other games not so much. But neither team will be a push over come playoff time, if they are healthy. Obviously health plays a key role for any team, you got to have some luck in that area to even get to the finals.

Actually, outside of the Warriors, there isnt any team in the WC that has a clear advantage over Boston, Toronto, and the Bucks, and while the Pacers and Sixers have been up and down, there really isnt any WC team, with a clear cut advantage of the Pacers of Sixers IMO either.

I dont think there is quite the gap, as there has been in the past. Yes, the West has more of the big name super stars, but team wise, I think those top 4 or 5 teams even in the EC can hang with anyone not named the Warriors.
Dray used to be the guy they couldn't afford to lose, but they have guys like Jordan Bell and Looney to fill/replace him now.

The guy they cannot afford to lose is KD. Hes the only balanced scorer on the team.

They could lose Steph and still win the title. They have fn Boogie Cousins waiting on the sidelines. Even a 75% Boogie, KD, Klay and Draymond would be the faves to win the title. They're that damn good

Pelicans/Warriors tonight, should be good if AD is playing. Lakers should get a W tonight over the Mavs. Excited to watch Doncic again.

I feel like the running theme with the Warriors is they are gonna just kill everyone for awhile and then the running joke will be "just wait till they get Boogie back".

Jimmy Butler sitting out tonight and might not come back, starting up the trade drama again.

                    Re: 10/30 - 11/5 Games Discussion Thread

-The three leading scorers in the NBA at this moment are all point guards. Stephen Curry, Kemba Walker, and Damian Lillard are playing outstanding basketball. How can these relatively small (all are 6-3 or under and weighing below 200 pounds) guards be so influential?

The game has really changed over the years. Defenders can no longer forcefully apply hand-pressure to the hip. The ball can be double-teamed at any moment and zone defenses are now legal.

The result is that point guards have more responsibilities than ever. It is a requirement to be an outstanding outside shooter. Points must be able to execute quick cross-overs to penetrate the lane in search of their own shots and potential assists.

                    - In light of Klay Thompson's recent explosion it begs the question of how to adequately defend this guy? First, you have to deny him the ball. He can't score if he doesn't have it! Play him as physically as the law allows. Pressure his handle and overplay his right shoulder. Tail-gate him around his screens and get help from the screener's defender. Run all out in transitioning to defense and make sure to tag him.

-Kawhi Leonard is the best two-way player in the game. He can score big points without dominating the ball. His defense is still outstanding. His passing is even seeing some improvement.

The part about losing Steph and they could still win the title.

They’ll still a heavy favorite but they wouldn’t be a near “lock”(in comparison to where they are and have been for the last 2-3 years)to win it all.

Could make a strong argument that they’d be easier to defend without the threat of him there.

I think in a general sense the new freedom of movement rules probably killed hopes of denying him that hard.

We'll see how the playoffs go, but that aint gonna work anymore.

Kawhi did lock up Ben Simmons last night who can't shoot : )

Yeah I can't call them a lock without Steph, he's still their most important player. We've seen KD get ice in his veins the last 2 years but that's without the pressure of being the top dog. The last evidence we have of him being top dog is choking a 3-1 lead so not sure what to really expect from him without Steph.

But yeah, you still have 4 all-stars without Steph so they would be the favorites. But a healthy/gelling Celtics and Raptors could give them a run for their money.

I think Pack saw what you said as a slight on Curry, in the context of LeBron vs Curry. Purposeful or not.

It's funny how we tend to give players more credit for being a great player on a weaker team, vs being a great player on a great team. Hell, they gave Westbrook an MVP for that. Steph somehow remains underrated, in spite of the fact that people say he's the best shooter of all time.

Obviously they are talented enough, especially if Cousins comes back from injury and plays close to what he is capable of. But to lose either Steph or KD, would be a major loss, that would bring them back closer to the rest of the pack.

I dont think your giving Curry enough credit for what he means to that team. While KD is the best all around player on the team, its Curry who steers the ship, and it all starts with him.

You maybe right, that they they have some other guys, now, to where losing Draymond may not hurt them as much as it would have a few yrs ago.
