Re: The Mac stats that that explain a lot...

This is the punchline. What's the point of posting the 3pt percentage going down, but calling him a good scorer in another thread?

Okay now how about finishing it and posting the assist steals rebounds and steals also.
    Those have most definitely improved.

I'm not getting how making more shots make your teammates better. I do agree he should be able to post up more, and go to the hole more, but you should take that to the coach. He has heard it from everyone from Barkley and Kenny Anderson to the fans, and he said he simply "will not change"

I know you dont want to hear it from me, let alone some guys havent seen a single HOU game, but it would do you more justice to know if you watched the games to see for yourself.

You really need to see the Rockets play before you hate on TMac. Stats cannot explain the Rocket phenomenon this year.

A guard rarely gets post-up looks via the set offense, bro. Its too easy to front with a real big man, and it leaves the bigger guys on the perimeter to kick out to. Bad situation for everyone involved.

Mac could post on the baseline if he chose to. He does not choose to. When LeBron gets the ball anywhere NEAR the low block, he immediately turns his back and backs down...either abusing his smaller defender, or more often, drawing a double. T-Mac is either too weak, too fragile of back, or too lazy to post up...don't try to put that on Van Gundy. Mac isn't particularly physical, and like his cousin, is developing a taste for chillin on the outside launching J's. Period.

And Oh yeah, Yao has a nifty 15-footer. If Mac wanted to post there would be plenty of opportunities. Gosh, didn't we just DAMN 'Toine for turning into this type of player?

As your so knowledgable about basketball...can you please answer me this one question man:

HOW THE F--- is Mac hoisting up 500 plus 3 balls for the ORLANDO MAGIC Coach Van Gundy's fault?

Thanks...should be interesting how you guys are going to blame Van Gundy for that also

And i've seen more than my fair share of Rocket games...thanks again.
The thing is he was very efficient for the team until last season. You even had issue with him when he hit 8 in a row. Make or miss there is always an issue.

JVG wasnt the coach last year, but Johnny Davis was. Give him the ball and move out of the way. He was used to driving and kicking out to the shooter until Garrity went down to injury, and MM was traded, and DA, and there goes your shooters, so then you have the D triple teaming him. What do you do?

            Pass or shoot the jumper?

He did both. If you can't drive in you can't.. ask Tony Parker what happened in the playoffs when LA learned to cut off his driving lane.

It is still T-mac that needs to change his game period. Like I said, good players will adjust to any offense/defense.

Even my friends who are t-mac fans acknowledge that he shoots too much.

T-mac has every bit of potential to drive to the basket and such, but not every SG/SF needs do does he? T-mac could adjust and maybe set up different players, having this teammates play better. Good players also make their teammates better right?

And another thing like I said was that it will be a matter of time before t-mac and rockets start playing good basketball so that they can make the playoffs.

For the Orlando Magic last year... he could either:
                    A) Drive the lane and get hammered by four help defenders.
                    B) Drive the lane and pass it to three-point specialists like Tyronn Lue, Keith Bogans, or Deshawn Stevenson. Actually, I'm not sure if any of them have hit a three pointer in their lives.
                    C) Drive the lane and pass to Juwan Howard (you know about him, you've watched him ride the pine on the Rockets), or pass to offensive powerhouses such as Drew Gooden, Steven Hunter, and Andrew Declerq.
                    D) Shoot jumpers.

No, it wasn't JVG fault last year. I'm pretty sure no one even mentioned last year being JVG's fault. But you can yell at me about it if it makes you feel better.
It was the fact that it was one of the worst group of players ever assembled onto a basketball court, and there really weren't too many options other than to shoot long range jumpers and three pointers (which, shooting Kobe-esque percentages, still managed to lead the league in scoring).

And I'm still not sure that you've seen TMac play on the Rockets. There are a total of 0 plays run for him in the post. I agree, he should be down there more often, but it's not part of the gameplan.

It's like blaming US troops for fighting in Iraq, when you think they should be in Afghanistan. There's not much they can do about it.

I see how it goes. Tmac starts struggling with his game, make every excuse for it to try and defend it. Kobe struggles with his game, Kobe is horribly overrated, and TMac is much better. Or the best line of them, "It's the coaches fault" Y'all crack me up sometimes man. If your going to call it, at least call it both ways.
