Wow, 39 % is bad for most players. I know the league average is around 45 %, so if you go by most players, that is bad. BTW, I saw an amazing stat last night. The Cavs are 16-1 when shooting a higher % than other team, 0-10 when shooting a lower %. It's pretty obvous for every team that when you shoot a higher %, it makes winning easy. That's why for me shooting a bad % is a BIG DEAL. You only get so many chances to score, and if u don't, the other team will, and you're hurting your teams ability to win.

I don't remember Tmac's game against the Spurs to be honest w/you, I'm more concerned w/Houston's 13-14 record. But I don't know what that has to do with Shaq and Miami's great season, or how Shaq has done without LA. That's the point, all 29 games so far. I guess you get into the playoffs based on 82 games, not one magical night in December. Anyway. I'm saying that we look at a lot of games, we don't get caught up in one game. I'm not trying to steer this thread into focusing on one game here or there, if I picked out his worst game, or best game, it'd look kinda funny, and I'd get called a *****, or LOVER depending on the situation. I'm not going there, that wasn't the intent of my thread. I never brough up one game in the thread's opening. I'm more concerned with all the games played.
You should have made that a little clearer in your opening post than, and maybe I wouldnt have brought up that game.

Personally, I didn't care who won that X-mas game, it doesn't prove much. For starters, LA had home court, Shaq had a calf injury, Wade was hurt, and LA didn't have Caron. If LA or Miami had blown the other out, maybe it would have meant a lot, but it was close. Secondly, anyone can win one game against a better team. But to me, it's important that Miami's won 11 in a row. Shaq is getting it done without LA. It speaks volumes to me that Shaq is making his team so much better. I always thought people overlooked Shaq taking Orlando to the Finals. He wasn't in his prime, at 23. Even MJ didn't singlehandedly take his team to the Finals until age 28, so Shaq not getting there until he's 28 doesn't say that he needed Kobe, it just said, he needed maturation and to reach his physical and mental peak like MJ did. People also overlook the fact that despite the debate over who's team it was, shaq was MVP and 3 time Finals MVP.

so if shaq's so important to the Heat, how come they couldn't tie and take the lead until he was OUT of the game against the lakers??

shaq does make the heat better, as a team, but having him in the game changes turns changes the game of the heat, not necesarilly for the better, depending on the team they are facing off against

i dont think eddie jones or dwayne wade need shaq to be the type of players that they are

oh wait! eddie jones is having the worst season of his life, even though shaq is on his team...shaq doesn't make his teammates better as much as you make it seem like, but he makes his TEAM, as a whole, better

Have you even watched sportscenter once? Miami is 23-7, brainiac. You know you're desperate when you say Shaq hasn't helped Miami immensely. I don't have to argue w/you, like I said, Miami was a .500 team last year, they don't have lamar or caron this year. They are 23-7. Enough said. Wins and losses is all i got to post, baby. 14-12, vs. 23-7, nuff said.

But Damon Jones is having the best season of his career and Wades numbers have gone up as well. The fact about it took for Shaq to foul out for them to come back doesnt even make sense. I think the guy who started the thread basically was making the point that Shaq is bringing a bottom tier East team into a top tier team in the whole L. Which is valid....Not even mentioning number 8 or the Lakers but simply stating the Shaq has changed the landscape of the L as he did when he went west.
