I have said this for many years now but LeBron should be EXCLUSIVELY a finisher, setting screens and rolling to the rim.

Double doubles, triple doubles, ect. None of that matters.
Him being exclusively a finisher would be wasting his supreme Court vision. He should operate out of the high post more and make plays from there and it would be a waste to not let him bring the ball up the floor on a fast break.

Him initiating the offense in the half court, I agree should be kept to a minimum

Never agreed with the assist hunting aspect.

If that were case, I think he'd have a lot more triple doubles and wouldn't be the far away leader in stat lines that are a a stat shy of triple doubles- most of those being in the assist category.

He can definitely dominate the ball, but his vision is still elite enough that I'd trust it in his hand to make plays...

Is it weird that even though LeBron is unquestionably a top 5 player of all time I still think he didn’t reach his potential?

See I think he did reach it, he just rarely gets the credit because he’s not “6-0”. If you look at Bron’s best seasons from a perspective other than “did he win or lose in the finals” he’s had some seasons that nobody can touch honestly.

That and people just naturally gravitate to the **** you shoot it in your face type of players.. same reason Kareem is looked over.

I honestly don’t believe we’ll see another player be as good as LeBron and not get his due the way Bron has.. not to say people don’t overrate him as well, but there are a huge chunk of people who just won’t admit, or fail to appreciate, him being great in the way that he was great.

I would say this even if he never came to the Lakers, but I think he exceeded the hype. He has some areas where he is only average, but no player has ever been elite at everything.

I would like to see some of the double high post screen stuff he did with Miami. Actually moving up and down the lane screening and misdirection cutting would be wonderful. LeBron has always been reluctant to post up which is too bad since he could be a monster down low.

To get a fastbreak going the Lakers will have to be able to play good enough defense to force tough shots and then rebound. Can't start a break inbounding after makes.

I wouldn't call it assist hunting or selfish play rather it is how LeBron sees the game. It has been very successful but it does put a glass ceiling on his teams when they run into great teams. It is hard for his teammates to dramatically expand their own games with LeBron doing his thing all the time.

For example, would Pascal Siakam be able to improve leaps and bounds playing alongside LeBron rather than Kawhi Leonard? I'm not so sure. Leonard is able to score beaucoup points without stalling the action.

I thought he would be little more than an average player when he first came into the NBA so I am stunned at the success he has enjoyed. Besides his relative lack of a post up game (MJ and Oscar have the edge there) I think he has maxed out his potential.

                  .
Well that's the thing AB, Kawhi has one of the highest usages in the league as an isolation player, and is privy to pounding the ball in his own right. He even shot the Spurs to the top of the league as far as isolation situations when he was with us. (We frequently saw the get out of the way and let Kawhi score offense in the playoffs with the Raptors too)

but Pop realized just how efficient he was in these situations and allowed him to exploit his mismatches and make plays...I think is something you have to do with elite isolation players....even though it has its drawbacks...with other players needing to adjust their games. This is going to be inevitable with the Clippers this season with George's arrival in Kawhi's case.

The way Wade operated as a slasher in Miami makes me feel a guy like Siakim would be just fine if not grab 4 or more easy points simply by moving with LBJ.

LeBron is the 2nd or 3rd greatest player in league history, so how the hell is he "underrated?"

And anyone that believes he "never reached his potential" is being silly. You can't literally have a better NBA career unless your name is Bill Russell, Michael Jordan or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.....

LeBron can't reclaim the title of the best unless he still is able to guard other wings effectively for decent stretches during a game in the regular season, IMO.

He can though, it’s just the videos like that to illustrate the 2 plays he doesn’t and loop them like that’s all he did all game long.

“Coming back”... we didn’t even get to see him in the playoffs with a healthy team this year. If he looks like he did in the 2018 playoffs (why can’t he?) there isn’t anyone outside of maybe AD or Giannis who even enters the conversation IMO.

Even if he is not the best player in the league he is still top 5 and at his age and with how much he has played that is impressive and I think this offseason is only going to help him. I think people dont realize how much it will help him having like a extra 2 months of rest and playing like 20+ less games for the first time in years with not making the playoffs.
