    Can Houston make the playoffs

With a losing record, and the Nuggets just picking up a new coach (with Laker pedigree) are the Rockets on their way back to the lottery? Orlando has a winning record, and is on track for a top 5 seed in the playoffs but Houston is spiralling towards the draft. I wonder who got the better end of that trade? Finally TMac gets on a team with a playoff proven coach, and arguably the second best center in the league and its same old, same old. I'm guessing the Nuggets go on a surge and leapfrog the Rockets by the allstar break.

If the Rockets cant make the playoffs with tmac and yao, look for that team to break up as soon as Yao is a free agent (hint: he will look to join Rudy T). Yao will clamor to play with an elite player who can let him score his quiet points in the post. And Tmac will solidify himself as someone who cant shoulder the load.

The rocket management is bringing the team down and its terrible. That being said the rockets still have an outside shot at the playoffs. I still think LA isnt gonna make the playoffs and denver and houston will get in but its whatever.

Tmac is an elite player what are u talking about??? Tmac deffers to yao in the posy u think kobe is gonna defer to yao???? NOPE not at all.

Lol @ tmac not being able to shoulder the load, have u watched the rockets this season??? Van Gundy wants the offense to run through YAO not through tmac. Im sure u noticed the sharp decrease in his points this season have you.

Tmac sense going to orlando has never had a secondary superstar up into now. Hill was always injured in orlando and besides that he still took them to the playoffs up into last year. You tmac haters are the funniest though

Yea they can still make the playoffs but they won't do a damn thing in them. I am still not understanding why he is trying to run his offense thru Yao. Yao is not the Man it is T-Mac. If he would try running plays for him and thru him the team would do a little better and I do mean a little. After dealing J.Jackson your 3rd option on offense for Wesley that isn't going to put them into the NBA Finals this year.Management has killed this organization but the pisspoor drafting and ******* contracts they sign players to. The down began back when we had three first round draft picks in one draft and we passed on hometown boy Rashard Lewis. And to top that all off the three stiffs we did draft are no longer in the league and didn't do anything when they were in. And I am really beginning to think that Yao is going to be no better than Shawn Bradley and he will turn into another bust for this team. Damn I miss Steve and C. Mobley and even Cato.

Re: Can Houston make the playoffs

How about posting Yao's numbers for the season. Comparing him to Shawn Bradley is idiotic, and simply hating. Yao is a good player. it is not Yao's fault Houston has struggled. It's their lack of depth and bench. I can never figure out why people overreact sometimes. Yao is averaging nearly 20 points on 50 % shooting, along with 9 boards and nearly 2 blocks. If Houston was 20-10 instead of 13-15, we would not be having this conversation. It's as simple as this. Yao and Tmac are not as good a combo as Shaq/Wade or Shaq/Kobe, b/c Yao is not near Shaq's greatness. it's OK. No one will be like Shaq, he is a top 10 player of all time. Yao has a chance to be great like Patrick Ewing, but he's not there yet. But to say Yao sucks b/c Houston is struggling is ridiculous. Who else besides Yao and Tmac has done anything for that team. Another thing, Houston was a .500 team last year, and they gave up more talent than they got. Tmac is a very goodplayer, somewhere btwn 5-10, like a Kobe or Dirk, in terms of best player. But he's not really doing any worse than Kobe.

Kobe is 15-12, but hasn't played anybody. Kobe is going to play a brutal West coast trip, so lets see how Kobe is doing then. And Kobe has a player in Lamar Odom as talented as Yao, it's just that no one appreciates that. To me, Kobe and Tmac are equally talented and equally valuable. Kobe is the more aggresive this year, in terms of dominating the ball. But his shooting % is slightly below Tmac's. Tmac just has to override Van Gundy's instructions and take over. yeah, it's better to go thru Tmac than Yao. yao isn't like Shaq in that he draws double teams every play. Tmac can create for Yao. That to me is the difference. Shaq created for his team, whereas Yao isn't quite on that level. He needs a Tmac to set him up. But to say yao sucks and is the same as Bradley is just plain dumb. Respect the player.

I dont think so as long as JVG continues to believe Knick ball is the way to go. That includes picking up old players instead of the right players.
