Re: 3/26 - 4/2 Games Discussion Thread
Speaking of major disappointments, we need to talk about Wiggins.
Dude is on a max contract right now and is a huge salary roadblock to the Wolves. He’s only 23 but he’s five years in and is actually regressing in pretty much every area. His shooting is getting worse, he’s a 6”8 forward who can’t rebound, can’t pass and isn’t the defender he looked like being early on.
At what point do you realize you could do better? He’s taking 17 shots per game and only scoring 18 points, that’s a whole lot of points being left on the floor. Derrick Rose barely playing 25 minutes is scoring better and more efficiently.
I really don’t want to write his career off but he needs to do some serious work. His shots are getting further from the rim year on year, he shoots way too many threes and hardly slashes. He’s under 200 pounds in a position where most of his matchups are at least 220. He needs to put on some serious weight between now and October and repackage his game or he’s always going to just be burning a hole in the Wolves’ cap.Comment

Andrew Wiggins just isn't very good.. Call it what it is.
As someone who wasn't a big fan of the trade for Love at the time, I couldn't have been more wrong. I know a lot of the reasoning behind it was with LeBron and Kyrie there is always an urge to try and "win now" but I wonder if part of the reason for the trade was in disappointment with what they saw from Wiggins as well.. Practice, summer league, etc.. Maybe they just saw that he wasn't it and moved him while value was at it's highest.
Dude has literally ALL of the tools to be a good player and he just isn't.. He's had his moments and shown flashes, but it's really not even to the point that you can even label it as inconsistent. 4 or 5 good games a year looks just like more of a fluke than anything.
I think he really needs a change of scenery. I'm just not sure there is a team out there who can/will trade for his contract.Comment

That would’ve been a very small sample size and shortsighted to determine he ain’t worth keeping after a month’s full of work considering you just drafted him w months ago.
Even the Lakers gave Russell 2 years despite one of those years being wasted on Kobe’s Last Ride Tour.#RespectTheCultureComment

Would be enough time to judge his IQ and work ethic though. But yeah you’re probably right.

But that’s something you would see or at least have an idea of before you even draft him. But this is assuming they were planning on keeping him anyway, which they weren’t.#RespectTheCultureComment

Phoenix bringing Jimmer out in Utah to put on that performance definitely shouldn't be the thing I'm laughing at the hardest today, and yet here we are.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

What's more funny is Suns fans are blaming him for messing up Bookers 60....he was jacking but Devin was actually trying to get him involved.Comment

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

I will say this though. I don't think bring Jimmy Butler on was the right thing at all for this team. I thought Wiggins was in a good place right before LaVine for hurt.

Booker told a fan last night that he was going for 50 against the Wizards.
And of course he backed it up and dropped 50 on them, lol.#RespectTheCultureComment

Booker is a talented scorer who I think has done well to expand other parts of his game since entering the league.. But man that contract is not good. They really need to hit on the pick and Ayton turn into a star, because otherwise that's going to be holding them down for awhile.Comment
