I played one game last night in arcade mode and the only difference I saw was that the rules are changed. The players did not play much different at all. Ill try some more when I get home this evening, but I dont see a difference so far.

here's the direct quote from the web site:
"NBA Live 2003 Rumour Killer -
A note from EA themselves: the reports about the bug in NBA Live 2003 (Arcade/Simulation Mode switched) are
bogus. I can't comment from personal experience as I won't have the game until late November, but the rumours
have been dispelled by an extremely credible source, I'd say that reports that suggest the bug exists are the
result of false claims or confusion."

I tried to find this, could you please give us the link?

Tombsong, after changing the game to arcade mode you have to go to the rules and put the fouls all the way up, and the the foul out to 6, and turn everything to "yes"--then play the game. Please give us your opinion after you try it out.

Re: Live 2003: Arcade and Sim modes reversed!
I tried the switch last night.
I don't notice the speed difference that much. I only played two games though.
I need to switch back and forth. I think that may show the difference.
What I did see was the CPU took more three pointers and drove the basket a little less.
I got two CPU charges called.
The CPU double dribbled once and travelled once.
The blocks were down for both sides.
The steals were definitely down for both sides.
The CPU went into a zone defense.
Low post action got tougher.
There is something going on here.
To truly test it I need to play the same teams same game same everything with both settings.
Whatever the setting, it was still fun as hell to play this game.
I still can't get over how cool it is to do the hop back over the three point line and drain the trey. It's off the hook when you do it in the corners.Comment

Re: Live 2003: Arcade and Sim modes reversed!
Black, the tempo of the game was the first thing I noticed--i love using kobe , post him up and do a spin into a fade away--or triple threat and take a side step with a pump fake, then step back and do a fade away--damn so many options! I'm having a lot of fun with this game as well--Comment

EA is hiding something plus who ever made that post can't really be trusted either. I could have made that post and said that I knew someone at EA .

I dont know if its true or not but Andrew (the person who made the post can be trusted) He used to run that website w/ Tim Tschimer who is know one of the producers of live. I would bet that he got the info straight from Tim.Comment

Re: Live 2003: Arcade and Sim modes reversed!
aholbert, have you tried the "arcade" mode? There is truly a difference, I'm interested in hearing other people's opinions on the matter because I wanna make sure that I'm not the only person expeirencing these subtle changes. Yeah, I'm sure his source was Tim--but something needs to be said because the game plays differently on each mode.Comment

Re: Live 2003: Arcade and Sim modes reversed!
Yo, Man I gotta check this out b/c I was up half the night slowing the speed of every bodys ratings down to make it slower. But if this true...... Man I will give you mad props from now until 2004 is out.I'm gonna have some words to say to EA about this, you know the profane kind. But all I wanna know is if the shooting percentage is down, also steals and blocks b/c I'm sick of the bulls shootin 79% each n every game. But now it all makes more sense, the arcade and sim is reversed. If u right, Thanks Dog b/c I was just gonna take the game back this weekend!

As for EA's credibility, remember, these are the same people who said there were no problems with the NCAA
Football 2003 discs when 50% of the people on this forum were having problems.
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
BINGO, as much as I love their games, they have been known to not be completely honest in hopes of selling more games. I think that if the SIM/Arcade flaw was confirmed then EA would lose potential sales especially with Christmas coming up and all.
I have the game and I do notice a difference between Arcade and Simulation. Maybe EAs idea of Simulation means that they are trying to "simulate" an arcade game. And since alot of sim games are at the arcade they use the term "arcade"........the truth can be stretched easily. Just ask Bill Clinton.Comment

Re: Live 2003: Arcade and Sim modes reversed!
Do the shooting %'s drop? If there is a drop then I'll believe it and I'll go get the game again. After all the good feedback you guys are giving on this change I am regretting taking the game back. Well at least I'm thinking I should have waited a day or two more.Comment

Question
Are the fatigue bars underneath the players in SIm mode?
I may have just not noticed it in sim mode, but when I changed to Arcade mode I saw the fatigue bars.
Can anybody check the game and see?
Sorry if this question is a waste of time.Comment

Re: Question
Oh come on even if this is a bug (and I am not saying it is) you know darn well EA would never admit to it. Think about all the problems with the NCAA 2003 Disc. Did EA ever make a comment about it? Did they even reply on their own message board?
Not that I recall...
EDIT: Sorry Brando I missed you post commenting on the NCAA Discs....
