        Re: Question

        from TXSIGMA's post
"I think BlueDevilsFan is on to something. By default in simulation mode the game has fatigue off. I played several games before I realized this problem.
Also, has any tried playing a few games in both arcade and sim mode with the exact same settings, including the foul sliders being set at the same level. Maybe when people make the switch from sim to arcade the increase the foul level to higher than what it was on sim mode, which makes all of the players play less aggressively to avoid fouling. That fact alone could make the game seem slower and more realistic. "

-well think about it, why would EA turn fatigue OFF on SIMULATION MODE!!! They've never done it before, obviously a mistake, further shows that the current sim mode is really arcade mode

          Re: Question

I've tried BlueD fan's theory and he appears to be correct, if you play an arcade game and change all of the settings to match the sim mode, they are exactly the same.

The problem EA did was forgetting to turn fatigue on for sim mode. That is the entire issue.

            Re: Question

are y'all sure about this? cuz i don't see it. whenever i play a b-ball game and football game, i always make sure to turn on the fatigue. and this was the same when i put in Live '03 on sim mode. cuz the other team was subbing and what not and even the subs were runnin up and down on me, high flyin and stuff, even thought it was fun. and i did the same on arcade, and it was just so different from sim. so i have a hard time believing that i forgot to put on the fatigue while playing on sim. everybody check this again.....

people......normally,when you play arcade mode fatigue by default is turned off....now being that it is turned off in the "sim" mode further indicates that it is a mix up.

i also always play with fatigue on, and the game did seem a little slower still on arcade.I will do a little more research though.Be back in a few

FATIGUE is defaulted OFF in both Sim and Arcade mode. I don't know if that is intentional or what, but I do know that turning it ON makes the game definitely more sim-like, so for those of you that are looking for that sort of thing, there ya go.

It appears to me that the Players in Arcade more throw down dunks a little easier than on Simulation as well. Otherwise the only noticeable difference is the rules being defaulted to OFF.

This is interesting, but my buddy tested this and put the game on arcade mode and still scored 209 points with 12 minute quarters. Not much difference between 238 points and 209 IMHO. I am not really noticing much difference guys.

I am going to add my 2 cents to this discussion. I have Live and I tried the arcade trick mentioned. My observation was there was way too many fast breaks by the computer as compared to the games I played on sim. Maybe my game was actually right with sim being sim and arcade being arcade. I have the Gamecube version so I don't know if that makes the difference or not. I like the game though. I think it is a whole lot of fun.

I for one didn't notice a differnce. The only thing that mianly happened were lest fast breaks and a low score by the cpu (around 80 points in 6 min quarters) I was scoring aroud 90 points. When I had it has regular mode, I was averaging aroud 105 and the cpu 95.

                                Re: Question

fellas i was so close to returning Live because it felt to arcadish. Then i read about the switch from sim/arcade being reversed and when i change my setting to arcade and also made the sliders to sim level i saw the difference instantly. Now this debate on whether if u have the sim mode fatigue on or not is irrelevent. Its confirm in my mind that EA made a boo boo and switch the modes on us. The speed on arcade is slowed down where each player is running at their proper speed, u cant dunk on everyone whenever u want and the shooting percent is down. I did notice that while the cpu is shooting at 40-45% im still shooting at 50-60%. I think the more i play the more the shooting avg will equal out. I also notice that the blocks have gone down and the cpu doesnt drive on u and create fast breaks constantly.

The one question i have is online can the setting be used from sim/arcade so even though people u play against are good they cant control all of their players at once which means the players they arent controlling arent playing arcadish. In other words once we fix the propper setting will the gameplay online also play more sim like on the arcade settings?
