Why isn't Brent Barry playing?

The signing of Brent Barry was huge off-season NBA news, and thought to be a key addition to get the Spurs back to the Finals with his versatility and outside shooting. So why isn't Brent Barry playing?

A guy who can play three positions, who averaged 12 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and a 43% 3pt shot the last three seasons, who is a seasoned veteran with leadership skills, should not be averaging under 20 minutes a game. Devin Brown is getting the same amount of minutes, and rookie Beno Udrih is stealing almost the same amount of minutes?

So Spurs fans, NBA fans, why isn't he playing? I loved Barry when he was a Sonic, and I thought he would flourish in San Antonio. What is the deal?

beno udrih playing well probably stole a lot of barry's minutes

no one thought that udrih would be as good as he is right now

Barry has been shooting like crap. Barely 40% from the field and in the 20's from 3.
He's a good player but he plays much better when he is out there a lot of the game, not in spurts like he's often used. But with Parker and Ginobili as solid starters, the suprising play of Udrih and the quick offensive spark Brown can provide, he may not get the chance of consistent minutes.
Like with Nesterovic, the Spurs spent too much money on Barry.

Although I can already see him hitting big shots come playoff time.
