Frestyle control is not all the new. ..

I remember that Madden had "freestyle control" a few years back. Welll they did not call it that, but you could use the right analog stick to do spins, dives, etc. I tried it but it was tough to get use to. And I assume it was not a popular feature because they removed it after a couple of years.

Anyone else remember this or am I confused?

I was thinking about it because I read in a few reviews of Live and in a few posts on the board the opinion that EA would use the Freestyle control in all their future games. .and they already have.

and hey, didn't NBA street use the right stick for some moves as well.

madden 2002 had it on xbox and so did nfl2k2

Madden and NFL 2k had the option of using the right analog stick to perform moves that were available on other buttons while Live uses the right analog stick to perform moves that you can only perform using the right analog stick. There is a major difference.

I agree with BD there is a MAJOR DIFFERENCE in the freestyle in live and the right analog being available in madden. the analog use for madden is for sitff arm, spins. but those SAME moves are also on mapped to the buttons on the controller. Maybe next year madden will allow u to use the right analog to do ur own jukes that would be SWEET!!!!

What about Street- could you use the R stick in Street? I forget. .

Nope, in Street you used any combination of all four shoulder buttons to perform dekes.
